🌍 International Day for Tolerance – November 16, 2024 The International Day for Tolerance, established by UNESCO in 1995, serves as an annual reminder of the perils of intolerance as well as the value of cultural understanding and respect. Tolerance is more than just putting up with one another; it is a conscious effort to invest in people, promote education, and engage in meaningful dialogue. This year, we're exploring the theme of listening—a simple yet transformative act that can bridge gaps and promote genuine understanding. In today's fast-paced world, listening is often overlooked, but it's a powerful tool for connecting across cultures and breaking down barriers. By listening, we demonstrate respect, empathy, and openness to alternative viewpoints, paving the way for a more inclusive society. Looking for a way to celebrate? You can advocate tolerance through art, stories, or poems, organize discussions about human rights, or simply take the time to truly listen to someone from other walks of life. Let us use today to make a difference by listening intently and embracing our common humanity. 💬💙 #InternationalToleranceDay #ListenToUnderstand #UnityInDiversity #EmbraceDiversity #SharedHumanity #CILAR #VSLLS #UNESCO
