You don't have to stay on top of everything. It's okay to appear clueless or stupid in things which are irrelevant. We have taken it as a rule that one must... →Be aware of every single current affair. →Watch every episode of the trending web series. →Follow the news religiously and present themselves to others as an informed individual. But why is this necessary? How much more time, energy, and brainpower would you have available if you drastically cut your media consumption? How much more rested and peaceful would you feel if you were no longer excited or outraged by every scandal, breaking news, and potential crisis? One of the most powerful things you can do in today's hyper connected, 24/7 media world is to say - "I don't know."

We cannot think or debate our way out of the current chaos. The shift we need to execute needs to come from someplace other than cable news, political machination, intellectual debate, Substack posts, podcasts, or polemical books. There’s no way to argue this. People don’t listen to facts, anyway. They find the facts they need to fit their story, whether or not the facts are contextual or even true. Saving ourselves and each other is not a matter of convincing anyone of anything. What we need to offer each other manifests less like words than an embrace. It happens in real life, and through artistic or spiritual interventions that bring us together in pre-cognitive ways — before our belief systems mangle the essential transmission. Imagine a world where every interaction, every person you meet, and every service you use is rated on a scale from one to five stars. Your overall rating determines your social and economic status, influencing everything from housing options to job opportunities. And this number you have to carry with yourself everytime just like your aadhar card. This is the gripping premise of "Nosedive," an episode from the series Black Mirror. I recently watched this episode, and it got me thinking about our own reality and the future of technology. There's one show that I would recommend to my LinkedIn community for inspiration on the future of technology: Black Mirror. Here are a few reasons why: Provocative Scenarios: Each episode presents a unique and often unsettling vision of the future, challenging viewers to think critically about the potential implications of current technological trends.Ethical Dilemmas: The series explores the moral and ethical challenges posed by emerging technologies, prompting important conversations about privacy, autonomy, and human values. Innovative Ideas: Black Mirror is a goldmine of creative concepts and speculative innovations that can inspire fresh thinking and novel approaches in various tech-related fields. Cultural Impact: By depicting extreme yet plausible futures, the show has sparked widespread discussions and debates, influencing both public opinion and the direction of technological development. For anyone in the tech industry looking to broaden their perspective and gain insights into the potential futures we are building, Black Mirror is an invaluable resource. #blackmirror #netflix #cinema #future

**HOW TO INCREASE THE NET WORTH OF THE WORLD IN ONE EASY STEP** Get rid of this website. That's it. That's the 'solution'. Cheque in the mail, please, Planet Earth. Ah, we can but dream. But why do have this dream? It's because, like the business world as a whole, LinkedIn is, by and large, a cornucopia of inauthenticity. And, as human beings with an innate desire to forge real relationships with other human beings, we don't much care for artifice and self-aggrandisement. I could wang on about the sort of perverse incentives that turn otherwise sensible people into idiots when they log on to LinkedIn. But I think it's more real to say that I've been one of those idiots myself, many times, and probably will be again. These days I'm doing my best to avoid behaving like that. But in the meantime LinkedIn is one great big glass house, and I'm not about to start throwing stones. Better, instead, to have a good laugh about it all. Which I did, courtesy of James and Charles at Wankernomics, on The Consultancy Business podcast last month. Have you heard it yet? If not, I promise you that it's an entertaining 30 mins. And if you're in Edinburgh this month, you're in for an entertaining hour as they bring their stage show to town - in all its hilarious, cringe-inducing glory. Here’s my review of K-drama ‘Hellbound’ season 2 for Mashable Middle East: Hellbound is one of those cool and mysterious K-dramas, whose refusal to render up its real meaning in the conventional sense, has given me an eerie brain-tease in the past, and now the release of its second season is equally opaque and enigmatic. The show about demons descending on Earth to drag people to hell, is mind-bending and more satirical than you can imagine. It is dark, so dark, that it leaves behind an array of puzzling pieces and with each twist the audience wonder how they should be fitted together. Hellbound isn’t about what it initially appears to be; the narrative peels away the diversionary misapprehensions until it arrives at its emotional kernel of truth, and the show offers us both hope and despair. Violence is a recurring idea here and no one is spared, be it newborn children, teens or adults. It is trying to feed into our collective desire to give us a real glimpse of hell in brilliant cinema, rather than whatever washed-out pieces of content Netflix dumps on our smartphones. It makes everyone concede to the story’s artistry, its conviction, even its brilliance. Hellbound is a challenge; it is complex and demanding. This is not some casual streaming-TV-type content to be consumed. Some will find it rewarding and some won’t. But as an event or a spur of thought, its eerie brain-tease idea will be welcomed, serving a mind-boggling story of torment. The second season, created with great moral intelligence and humanity, retains all its power to disturb but also encourages viewers to stop creating hell for themselves and rather live and find a world one desires, while they can. #Hellbound #Hellboundseason2 #Netflix #Kdrama #Kdramaworld #kdramaaddict
