Picking the visualization on Metabase with MinusX was super flaky. It was setting the visualization and hoping the Metabase app would figure out the rest, and did not give users a fine grained control of the viz. With this PR, MinusX sets the axes, splits and metrics based on your instructions. Now the model - and by extension, you - get full control over the viz!

The social events and tutorials are now open for registration in useR! 2024! The virtual tutorials are free to attend and the week before the in-person tutorials. There are some amazing topics there in the tutorial list - like learning web scraping from Hadley Wickham, parallelization from Henrik Bengtsson, statistical engineering from Daniel Sabanés Bové, GH-actions for R packages from Daphné Grasselly & Paweł Rucki, survival analysis via tidymodels with Max Kuhn & Hannah Frick and many other topics! Tutorials are included in the already low conference fee - but for those registered already, you do need to go back in and modify your registration to sign up for a social event or a tutorial (clicking it in the schedule does not sign you up). Places are limited and one social event (the beer hall dinner and quiz night sponsored by Appsilon has a small cost). https://lnkd.in/dENFMxWh

Very much looking forward to hosting the useR! tutorial on "Good Software Engineering Practice for R Packages" together with Dr. Friedrich Pahlke! Sign up if you want to learn how to build reliable, high-quality statistical #R packages - something which will help you in academia and industry, and the principles are applicable to #Python and #Julia too. (This is also going to be the first time I will wear my new #RCONIS hat ... more on that to come soon, stay tuned!)

I constantly need to map out some processes quickly for clients without any of the sign-up page nonsense. So, I decided to build my own tool! Available for use here (No sign up, no charge, no nonsense) https://lnkd.in/gVmqrfYY Over the past two days I decided to throw together my own process mapping app built for data specific purposes. Its barebones at the moment but it's got the basic features: Quick, ready to use nodes with customizable connections Animated flows Ability to save a diagram as a JSON and upload it to get right back into diagramming Please take a look at the link above. Feedback is more than welcome!

Here's Why You Should Gamify Your Free Trial Like ProdPad: Data analysis of ProdPad’s users indicated that the standard 30-day trial period was too long, as most decisions were made within the first week. So, they reduced the trial period to 7 days, and conversions doubled. However, some users still craved more time. Instead of simply extending the trial period again, ProdPad got creative. They gamified it. Users could now earn extra trial days by engaging with the features on the platform: - Adding a product? +1 day - Entering your product vision? +2 days - Adding an initiative to your roadmap? +2 days - Adding a description to your roadmap? +2 days ProdPad then introduced nudges throughout the app to inform you of your real-time progress. This 'win-win' approach skyrocketed results: - Trial-to-conversion time doubled again. - The overall conversion rate tripled again. - Increased user feedback, which fueled continuous improvement.

In this 7th video in the #MapKit with #SwiftUI and #SwiftData series we will ask for permission and if granted, show the users's location on the map. We implement a new service class that will manage this authorization and deal with errors youtu.be/xIU0PtHiwtg
