🚨 Security Vulnerability Discovered in Instagram's Notes Feature 🚨 Hi, Meta team, I recently discovered a vulnerability in Instagram's Notes feature that allows users to bypass the 60-character limit using client-side validation bypass techniques. This issue could lead to unexpected behaviour or potential misuse if not addressed. 🔍 Summary of the Issue: By modifying the payload and sending a request directly to the server via Postman, I was able to successfully share text exceeding the allowed limit. When we sold the first ads on Google and YouTube at DoubleClick back in the day, we made fun of 'global f**king domination' at our global sales conferences. Who knew back than that it would become reality one day. Paul BIONDI I must have a video somewhere with you shouting that on cam ;) Regulators understand by now (about 2 decades to late) why allowing concentration of 'a couple of digital startups' wasn't so clever (in hindsight). The small train of acquisitions Android-DoubleClick-YouTube now dominating whole industries globally. 'Bringing the science of search to the art of display' sounded poetic when Google bought Doubleclick. The rest is history. As complaining is not my style; we put-our-money-where-our-mouth-is and work hard every day at Nederlandse Datakluis to fix the internet and give personal data back to users. MVP expected before summer. Backed by large media enterprises and the EU we are trying to de-power global forces that withheld the value of the initial web to be evenly distributed in line with the vision of Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of the web) and his Solid project. 'The Web as I envisaged it, we have not seen it yet. The future is still so much bigger than the past.' Hold that thought Tim, and hold my beer ;) With a team of passionate individuals we are on a mission and aim for a data eco-system based on open standards where we flop from winners-take-all to a level-playing-field. 🚨#Cybersecurity_Advisory #Chrome🚨 A Zero-day #vulnerability called CVE-2024-7971 affects the #Google #Chrome V8 JavaScript engine. The flaw allows a remote attacker to exploit heap corruption by crafting a malicious HTML page. Once exploited, this vulnerability could lead to significant impacts, including unauthorized access to sensitive data or the execution of arbitrary code. According to Google, CVE-2024-7971 is a #zero-day vulnerability that is now being actively exploited in the wild. It is highly recommended that users upgrade their browsers right away to version 128.0.6613.84 to mitigate the risk if they use Chrome or any other Chromium-based browser, including #Microsoft #Edge, #Opera, and #Brave.
