Broadband pros.. let's talk about density. I was speaking to one of my former colleagues recently about density, and why it is important. Most companies analyze density as part of their new build / new market expansion programs. Density is calculated as the total number of units passed from new fiber divided by the total number of fiber miles. If I have to build 1-mile of fiber, I would much rather it pass 75 homes than just 25 homes. More bang for your buck. Contact me today for any questions around density or new market assessment tips.

You'd be amazed how many copper phone lines are still in use in 2024. While they had their time in the sun, VoLTE is not only superior tech, but it's much less expensive than maintaining those ancient landlines. If you still have copper POTS (landlines) in use they're probably: - In use for emergency services like fire alarms - Used for elevator or garage call boxes - Going to get more expensive as time goes on Read more about how to cut the copper. https://hubs.ly/Q02X9jpk0

The Impact of Fiber Route Choices on FTTH Deployment When deploying Fiber to the Home (FTTH), the choice of fiber route is more than just a technical decision—it’s a strategic move that affects cost, efficiency, and scalability. ✅ Cost Implications: An optimal fiber route minimizes excavation, pole installation, and potential conflicts with existing infrastructure. Poor planning, on the other hand, leads to higher costs due to rework or unexpected obstacles. ✅ Performance and Reliability: A well-planned route ensures minimal bends, splicing points, and interference, leading to higher signal quality and reduced maintenance needs. Reliability is key for customer satisfaction. ✅ Future Scalability: With the growing demand for high-speed internet, planning routes that support future expansion—like adding GPON splitters or extending to new areas—saves significant resources in the long run. ✅ Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Routes passing through regulated areas or natural reserves could face delays or additional costs. Early consideration of these factors streamlines deployment. In FTTH projects, proper route planning is the backbone of sustainable and successful implementation. Remember: your choices today shape the network’s efficiency tomorrow. What’s your take on this? Let’s discuss! #FTTH #FiberOptics #NetworkEngineering #SmartCities

“Ill build you a cheaper house than the other guy, but I won’t have many resources to help if things go wrong, and I might stop building homes in this state next year. Oh and if you do need help, I’ll make sure to send you a bill.” ^^^Would you build a house with that builder? Then why would you build your broadband network with a vendor with that same mindset? All solutions aren’t created equal, all partners aren’t created equal, and all networks aren’t built equal. Look at all sides before deciding to invest the future of your broadband operation with a vendor. #broadband #fiber #sethtalks
