CytoReason just secured $80 million in our Series B funding round.
It’s a big deal for us, because some of the investors are top leaders in their industries – Pfizer (pharma), NVIDIA (tech), Thermo Fisher Scientific (life sciences).
And it’s a big deal because reality these days is not so simple. Not in Israel (we all know why) and not globally, with high interest rates and major economic and regulatory challenges. Just look at these contrasting headlines from one local newspaper’s feed today. This is the story in a nutshell.
We’re celebrating today, but trust me, it hasn’t been easy for us either. And lots of challenges and opportunities lie ahead.
Still, throughout this journey, I’ve learned 2 valuable lessons:
1. Persistence is the name of the game – even when the odds seem insurmountable, there’s always a way forward. And thanks David H. for teaching me this lesson! Now I get why you so relate to Vince Lombardi’s quote “Winners never quit. Quitters never win.”
2. Surround yourself with a great team – there’s no way in the world we’d be able to do this without the incredible, daily efforts of the company’s finance team. Thank you Yana Bronstein Nidam & Michael Frei! You’re the living proof that teamwork is not just a statement written on our team’s core values list, but a true state of mind.
With all due modesty, I feel this is also a major personal and professional achievement. But the one person, at least for me, who played the most pivotal role in this achievement is Michal Levy Ganiel. Thanks Michal for your ongoing support! Especially for putting up with the late-night conference calls and the long-hour weekends. I suppose it will be a bit less crazy now…
