Completed my third task: Building a console-based Tic-Tac-Toe game for two players! Here's a quick rundown of what it includes: 🔲 Game Board: Crafted a sleek 3x3 grid as the game board. 👥 Players: Assigned "X" and "O" to two eager players. 🖥️ Display Board: Implemented a feature to showcase the current state of the board. 🎮 Player Input: Prompted each player to enter their move for an engaging gameplay experience. 🔄 Update Board: Successfully updated the game board with each player's move. ✨ Check for Win: Programmed to check if a player has won the game. 🔍 Check for Draw: Implemented logic to detect if the game ends in a draw. 🔄 Switch Players: Ensured seamless alternation of turns between "X" and "O" players. 🏆 Display Result: Displayed the game result, whether it's a win, draw, or the game is still ongoing. 🔄 Play Again: Added an option for players to indulge in another exciting round of Tic-Tac-Toe. #CodsoftIntern #TicTacToe

Really enjoying the "retro" Half-Life vibes of ABIOTIC FACTOR. I've only played it solo so far, but it's a brilliant concept: take the gameplay foundations of HL1 and update it with more modern gameplay elements like crafting, a bit of survival, and co-op. Created by a NZ developer, Deep Field Games, with all the charm (and accents) to suit. Great work, Geoff (Zag) Keene and team. How to create a fun little #game with #GPT4o & only a screenshot + a 5-word prompt! It’s amazing how simple it got to generate a game that works well, with such a short multimodal briefing (prompt). It even has good judgment like timing the gaming loop nicely and the UI result is even more beautiful than the example screenshot I gave it. The code is with very well commented & structured. I could not code it much better with 1000x the time… where is this going?

How do you know you have a solid game? When players begin to mod a game that is still in development. I have always had a soft spot for 3v3 MOBAs, from League of Legends' Twisted Treeline, Awesomenauts, Smite's Joust, and now Deadlock. Cliff Schuldt, in his free time outside of his normal work hours, is currently developing a 3v3 mode for Deadlock. His passion for level design shines through in this project, which is showing great potential. The key goals for the map include: ➤ A layout designed specifically for 3v3 gameplay. ➤ Faster-paced matches compared to the standard 6v6 mode. ➤ Shorter match durations to maintain intensity. ➤ A compact design that encourages quick decision-making and tactical play. "Personally, I find these goals more approachable in bite-sized gameplay (not a criticism of the current game). The mode also aims to provide a fun space for custom games with friends. Part of making this map is to build new design muscle for me on how to create a space for a game like this, new things to learn and digest to make a fun, enjoyable experience that provides depth for players." - Cliff Schuldt Modes like this show that we need a community server sooner rather than later. It's only a matter of time before we see 20v20 modes, or even a BR mode—all for a game that isn't officially out yet and is still on an invite-only basis.

Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations D&D homebrew rules, how to play characters, settings for gameplay; so many combinations. Despite any given core set of rules, there has to be 1 million ways to play. I had never even tried to play until about 10 years ago. A few sporadic one-shot games. One or two attempts at getting a group together. Then, just before quarantine, we started my first, real, long-term campaign. We’re now level 17. The character is the one I started with (Dragonborn Bard). It is certain that this character would have perished several times over had we played to the letter of the handbook. My partner is the DM (no, he doesn’t give me special treatment) and he had molded the 5e rules to fit our group as there were several new players, including me. The game provides a sense of camaraderie, an outlet for creativity, and every group will be different. Every character I could play would be different! Every world could be portrayed differently.
