✨ Femtech’s time to shine ✨ With billions in market potential and investor participation pointing to growth, why isn’t #femtech getting the attention it deserves?
 Dealmaking in female technology (femtech) is holding up fairly well, yet still undersized compared to other segments and its potential market size, particularly at the expansion stage. There are optimistic signs of resilient investor participation, along with a few scaling femtech companies, while broader female-founder funding appears robust even in a market downturn. Benefiting from longer-term drivers and pockets of resilience in institutional investor interest, femtech will likely continue to grow but is predicted to be slow due to the current market environment. With so many exciting pioneers and start-ups embracing this space and exponentially-evolving new technologies, the future can only be positive for femtech. We have massive untapped seams of tech talent across Europe. This is evidenced in the appallingly low amount of women, in particular, who: 💰 Get investment - under 1 in 10 🧠 Hold patents- under 1 in 7 💸 Are VC/GPs- under 1 in 7 At what stage are diverse founders and VCs leaving the #deeptech scene? There are a few things I could never distill- The color violet. The color blue. The amount of light that makes all the difference between the colors violet and blue. Carrying house keys to school and feeling important. Not wanting to become a doctor. The feeling of a woman entrepreneur. These experiences are like different shades of the same color, and I can relate to the women entrepreneurs who now make up ~67% of my top stack rank! They’re building everything from complex drug delivery systems to alternative energy mechanisms, robotic intelligence systems, circular economy modules, and of course, platforms that connect other women. I've watched this number grow from ~40% last year to 67% this year in my deeptech/biotech heavy pipeline. In an industry where I've seen <10% women representation in deeptech investing cohorts, this is a huge win for the community. Some have fought cancer, some tribal biases, some age, but most of them? They’ve conquered indifference. All in all, it was a good week:) #investing #womenentrepreneurs #innovation

One of my key takeaways from Upstream Festival yesterday was the power of building businesses and investments on the wave of a macro trend. In a world where 5x the amount of research has been done on erectile dysfunction (which affects 19% of men) compared to PMS (which affects 90% of women), here are some thoughts (and hopes!) on FemTech picking up one such wave. #FemTech
