Which countries are leading in (and ready for) #ArtificialIntelligence & #GenAI? Boston Consulting Group (BCG) evaluated the readiness of different countries to effectively integrate #AI as well as the exposure of different sectors to it within them. The study highlights that most countries are not ready to unlock the full value of AI or manage the disruption from it. With only few pioneers and a relatively small number of contenders, there is a risk of a global AI polarisation. Key findings of the report: ● 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Out of 73 economies assessed, only five - Canada, Mainland China, Singapore, the UK, and the US - are categorized as AI pioneers. They have reached a high level of readiness by blending elements like investment and infrastructure, turning disruption into a competitive edge. They are in a unique position to guide the world forward in innovation, talent development and AI regulation and ethics. ● 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Several economies with high AI readiness are just behind the pace of AI pioneers. While this group of AI contenders includes established economies, it also features emerging ones like India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE that are using policy and targeted investments to adopt AI on an advanced level. As these economies strengthen their innovation capabilities, they will grow more competitive and influential in the AI space ● 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀. Most economies in the study are not ready for AI disruption. More than 70% score below the halfway mark in categories like ecosystem participation, skills, and R&D. Policymakers must act now to adjust to a world of AI and boost resiliency, productivity, jobs, modernization and competitiveness Source 🙏 Martin Moeller Link to study https://lnkd.in/eUHB4jPU #ChatGPT #chatbots #chatgpt4 #GenerativeAI
The 'laggards' finding is concerning, but also an opportunity. Governments and businesses in those countries need to prioritize AI education, R&D investment, and creating supportive ecosystems. Collaboration and knowledge sharing with leading nations will be key to accelerating their progress.
Very helpful
Interesting Dr. Marcell Vollmer... Boston Consulting Group (BCG), In steady contenders category, developed countries (except pioneers) seem to have been included by default. In my humble opinion, even in a developed country with AI safeguards being installed, sufficient levels of readiness for its adoption could be challenging on the ground! Hope to see some insights on that front going forward.
With more than 70% score below the halfway mark !
Singapore agree to large extent... Not for US look at their IRS and other government related stuff... far behind India.
Big gab between the countries that you mentioned above
Insightful

Excellent report, but curious why Russia is missing?
