The word Boredom first appeared in 1829, coincidently in a newspaper… 195 years later , the placid feeling of being unstimulated is a malaise that has gripped us all. Was it always so bad ? I remember in 1996 travelling 600kms with just one cassette on me that had 8 songs from movie The Gentleman and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. What a terrifically boring and at the same time memorable journey it was ! But today , India Inc has millions of bored employees. They may include high performers but are absolutely listless . Paras, I sense those affected seek escaping instead of facing their personal lives of being accepting themselves their lives, continuing to belong to their loved ones even though physical distance for the pursuits they pursue. Looking for outward satisfactions through looking for a high, happiness, rather than composure. Composure doesn't mean being calm but realise self. Several prod what will you do when not gainfully employed. Being by myself doing nothing and in the routine looking to cut down NVA and create NVA and not about time management at all. Accepting self, being self assured and not wanting to lead someone else's way of living and yet accepting uniqueness of all those we are in direct and indirect touch in our lives. Organisations won't be able to help humans in their personal space. I don't believe in chanting and following a cult I sense organisations should discuss about what is " meaning of life " / " self worth " / why the feeling of its not worth it / why not to pursue doggedly to the brink of a break down no who and what and why factors who break the will to pursue aspirations that are lawful Organisations having a take a break for a week and continue connecting with the employee his / her colleagues
.....as the skill sets in the organisations are core biz related. Reading a book by oneself / listening to music by oneself/ dancing by oneself / travelling by oneself/ watching movie cinema by oneself / living by oneself/ shopping by oneself / learning by oneself / teaching by oneself, HOW ABOUT KNOWING BY ONESELF, than being decoded by those who never lived your life. Equipping those who live by oneself would could should don't know a start. How may I help you won't help. Collaborate / Collaborate pay / collaborate efforts / collaborate results / what worked what didn't work / what is it like being thorough not perfect Assign roles /hats in a project team that one hasn't done before and not sense discomfort Not knowing is alright. Not knowing subject is alright. Complementing roles. Taking charge when anyone cadre of team is out of work to tend to personal professional pursuits or needs. Taking charge as a team. How many of us at all cadres ask leaders when do you want the deliverables. The leaders set the deliverables or their leaders assign or ask them when can you have the deliverables delivered ? The " I want to be like you " and not being enslaved to the " this is not me "

I trained 4000 plus employees through emails and I expected myself to be a trainer delivering sessions in person, done in person sessions, virtual sessions in spite of medical conditions irrespective of preparedness. 2w" time is money " those who chant are the ones who breach the lives. Taking a paid break and even in the paid break expected to be performing the paid break with " what you are keeping busy with / what have you been doing with your break time. I have had followups at midnight and while taking a shower to have a fall in the bath. Would such behaviour be factored in reviews as enablers or derailers. Should one learn what is it to be an acquired braveheart /conditioned brave heart ? It's about the pace. The efforts estimation would be biased by those who measure it. Incorporate world-view and not just being a speed demon to get the tunnel vision. Not everyone we know has a world-view, when everyone is present to discuss it could get the bug of world-view step in and it takes 21days and more of the world-view sensing and not about appreciating and rewarding for everyone. The why and how did you get it ( innovation, process improvements, problem solved not yet though it seems resolved as the loops in the chain need to show their reaction - response) Thinking about 10 roles in manufacturing as good as 1 role in a technology organisation or industry is not a comparison of likes to likes as skill sets in the organisations are core biz
