If like majority of Google Advertisers you have tested Performance Max campaigns, you're likely wasting a ton of money if you're not excluding branded keywords from the campaigns. While Google suggests the results are incremental, that isn't what I'm seeing. I believe the discussion needs to be how are we measuring brand spend and is it even driving incremental lift. The only time branded campaigns are worthy is to deter competitors from bidding on your terms, or product/service segmentation that leads to a specific or relevant landing page. If your PMAX is performing at a better rate than non-branded volume or your Meta prospecting, or your CPCs are lower than the rest of the account, then it's likely you're running a lot of spend towards brand. To remove branded terms from PMAX you can use the form below. To create balance and more clarity, in our experience its best to then support these campaigns with a brand search and shopping campaign as support. A standard shopping campaign with a ROAS target that’s double your non-brand target will ensure you’re capturing branded shopping inventory as well. Shuffle spend as necessary. When brand is removed from PMAX obviously sales will decline, however your account performance should increase overall. https://lnkd.in/gMXPxtbC
