Yesterday while driving in an Uber, I spoke to the driver, in his twenties, about autonomous vehicles. His opinion is that it won't come in his lifetime. And he was not the first driver that has expressed that opinion. Interestingly, AI is already beating military pilots in airplane dogfights, and yet young folks think AI won't be able to drive a car autonomously in the next 50 years. What do you think? What transformative change is AI delivering or will it deliver in your daily work? What is your company doing to prepare for the AI-driven change? In just 18 months, over 1 billion people have used Large Language Models. I assume a significant portion was related to work. Yes, it can help us with drafting emails and provide executive summaries of large documents, but that is minuscule in relation to the true potential of AI in any line of business. If your company's AI strategy is to purchase a ChatGPT license for all, they might be missing the point. In the past 10 years, the computational power of AI has grown 10x every year. So, if you think a problem can't be managed by AI, wait a year or two. The big question that boggles my mind is - where is AI going, and what will it become? Here's a video worth watching that gives many answers but also opens more questions. AI, as a new digital species, is the biggest challenge and greatest opportunity of the 21st century. If it delivers even a fraction of what it promises, the next decades will be the most productive in human history. https://lnkd.in/dZzvXFhd Let me know your thoughts on the future of AI and its impact on our work and lives. #Agentic AI is indeed emerging as a powerful trend in the tech industry, driven by advances in Generative AI. These autonomous agents can perceive their environments, make independent decisions, and execute complex tasks in real time. Key Features of Agentic AI: 1. Autonomy: Unlike traditional AI systems, Agentic AI operates with minimal human intervention. Once given a goal, these agents assess the environment, gather relevant data, and make decisions independently. 2. Dynamic Decision-Making: Leveraging real-time data, Agentic AI systems can adapt their actions based on changing circumstances. This capability is crucial for applications requiring rapid responses, such as autonomous vehicles, trading bots, or virtual assistants in customer support. 3. Interactivity: These agents actively engage with their surroundings, including both digital and physical environments. They can retrieve or analyze data, collaborate with other AI or human agents, and continuously refine their knowledge. #Agentic #AI #TechJourney #Automation #Learning https://lnkd.in/dKivtp_e

Autonomous vs. Semi-Autonomous Agents: What's the Difference? Who’s Really in Control? Different levels of autonomy bring unique strengths to AI. Here's what you need to know: ▸ Independence Level - Fully autonomous or human-guided ▸ Decision Speed - Instant responses vs. careful checks ▸ Adaptability - Self-learning or human-adjusted updates Think your team could use more autonomous power or a mix of both? #TechTuesday #FluffyMuffins #AI #AIAgents #Innovation

Is AI biased? Absolutely. But it’s more complicated than that. In a recent conversation with my friend Rahul Parundekar we dove deep into the layers of bias embedded in AI systems. What became clear is that bias isn’t just a surface-level issue—it’s a systemic one, amplified at every stage, from pre-training data to algorithm design, all the way to output predictions. The challenge? The data we’re collecting, the models we’re building, and the outputs we’re generating are all rooted in human bias. We realized that if the foundation is flawed, everything built upon it will be too. As we discussed, it became evident that to truly tackle AI bias, we need to start by addressing the bias in humans. It’s about improving ourselves, bringing in more diverse voices, and ensuring that the teams behind AI systems reflect the diversity of the world we live in. If we want unbiased AI, we must first work on being less biased humans. It’s a journey that starts with us. Thank you, Rahul Parundekar for such a thought-provoking discussion. If you’re interested in hearing more details from our conversation, check out the full discussion in Rahul’s post. Looking forward to many more insightful conversations in the future.
For our second Dialogue for Autonomous Humans, Claire Xue, Founder of Moodelier, and I chat about something super important for the future of #AI as well as something that she and I are both passionate about - reducing #biases in AI. While we have seen #GenAI come a long way, in our short conversation, we touched on potential directions for improvement. If you'd like to participate in similar dialogues, do reach out.

Great article on the practical ways to bring human values to AI - and thanks to Julie Inman - Grant for her posting on it! The issue that stood out to me was: "If an autonomous vehicle narrowly misses hitting a pedestrian, is that a safety failure or a sign that the vehicle’s safety system is working?" Part of the answer will come from the underlying question: "What is an unacceptable outcome when using this AI system?" It is important that organisations define, monitor and regularly review what unacceptable outcomes mean for them and their stakeholders - and design failsafes and business continuity plans around these outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gg_ikGAW #AI #ResponsibleInnovation #RiskAndCompliance
