🤷🏻♀️ Understanding why your child won't listen when it's time to get off screens can be frustrating. It's not about their respect or your authority; it's about 🧠 brain science. 🛑 Kids aren't equipped to stop on their own because screen stimuli activate the brain's dopamine reward system, creating a feedback loop similar to nicotine or cocaine use. Yelling or gentle parenting won't help. So, what can parents do? A lot more than you think. 🌟 Dive into Your Child's Magical Development Journey! 🌈 Hey amazing moms! Today, let's talk about your child's early development. It's like building a house—starting with a strong foundation. 🏠 Here's how to make sure your child's growth is on track. 🍼 0-4 Months: The Basics 🍼 In these first months, it's all about eating, sleeping, and pooping with ease. When these functions work well, your baby can handle more things like noise, taste, texture, and touch. These are key for sensory processing. 🎵🌈 👶 4-10 Months: Motor Skills 👶 During this time, your baby learns to roll over, sit up, and coordinate movements. Smooth basic movements help the brain not get overwhelmed, leading to better behavior and easier social interactions later on. 🏫🌟 🚶♀️ 10-18 Months: Walking & Talking 🚶♀️ Pulling up, cruising, and walking aren't just physical milestones—they're the first steps in speech development too! The brain first conquers gravity, then moves on to higher-level connections like talking and socializing. 🗨️🌟 🌈 Your Action Steps 🌈 1️⃣ If you feel in your "gut" that your child is struggling with a milestone, let's talk. Your child's story will help us understand how we can assist. 🌟 2️⃣ Get a nerve interference check with us. We've helped hundreds of children start strong and thrive later on. 🌱 Click the link in our bio to schedule an appointment today. Mom's Brain 🧠 (This is a wild place) !!! "She doesn't eat vegetables properly these days. God knows what she eats at daycare... what can I do to ensure she gets the right nutrition? 🤔" "She's been coughing since yesterday. I hope she doesn't get a fever. 🤒" "The entire house looks so messed up! I wish I could find some time to clean up those scattered toys everywhere. 🧸" "Wait, did I respond to that email from daycare? 🗓️" "What could I have done better in that meeting today? 🤔" "Oh no! I completely forgot to send that email! 😲" “I am yet to give that certification exam when should I schedule it” "Hmm... maybe I could've worded that a little differently to keep that discussion from escalating. 😔" "Okay, deep breath. My dear brain, just let me be present and play with her for a while. 👩🍼" This is how my brain normally converses internally almost every evening from her to work to self reflection topics, even though I have so much help. And this is with one kid...I wonder what other parents' brains, with one or multiple kids, converse like? Share your thoughts or just try to consciously notice your thoughts today? 😅 #mombrain #womenintech #womenintechnology #momsintech #mothersintechnology #workingmom #momlife #parenting #linkedincommunity

Thoughts Following Reading The Expectation Effect (more to follow) 1. Treating a child's cut or graze, The wet paper towel (or other more suitable alternative) actually works to genuinely reduce pain if the person has an expectation that it will. Avoid telling the patient that there will be pain, it makes it massively more likely, a kind of reverse placebo effect can result. 2. When reporting attendance, present as follows: If you want to give a good impression - use the larger figure - 95% attendance. If you want to drive attention to the negative - focus on the 5%. I use this depending on who the message is for - parents of children where attendance needs improvement or stakeholders where I want to demonstrate success. 3. During PE or other physical exertion frame language to the children around the desired effect. Pain and tiredness is evidence that the exercise is working and that you are strengthening your muscles. This will actually make the exercise more beneficial as well as reducing the negative effects - such as pain. Finally for now: *Getting* to do something is massively better than *having* to do something! From Robson: The Expectation Effect. #ChildCare #PositiveFraming #PlaceboEffect #Education #ParentingTips
