I was beyond blown away by the production here at OpenText World 2024 in Las Vegas! I had the pleasure of hosting for the virtual audience and women in tech! A relevant sidebar -- a stage of this magnitude can be intimidating! However, with lots of rehearsing, a solid presentation, and other key tips (see below!) you build in your own stress buffers. I continue to share some top tips for speakers at every level — whether you’re giving a presentation to your team in house or on a grand stage like here in Las Vegas. Here are some speaking articles and tips I have personally been putting together and advice would have loved to have when I started 15 years ago!! 🤓 Check them out here! https://lnkd.in/ebwBauSG #events #emcee #techinfluencer

🌟 Excited to be part of the Female Future Week x T-Systems! 🌟 The Female Future Week is a digital event connecting female innovators with company representatives to drive innovation, collaboration, and empowerment. I’m part of the DACH Team, and my focus is on how we can use embodiment and movement to create real systemic change. Movement is more than physical—it’s a tool for aligning ourselves and the systems we’re part of. A huge thanks to ekipa & T-Systems International for organizing this event. Special thanks to Lidia Welldeabzghi, Justin Gemeri, Nico Heby, Nicole Berg. Let’s create a future of resilience, connection, and transformation. #FemaleFutureWeek #innovation #systemicchange #embodiment #femaleleaders

Thank you Laura Small, SPHR for your vision in creating and executing the first ever “Women in Power” Summit. Our President, Lilly Yeatman was on this rockstar panel and she shared a few pearls of wisdom from the event: • Have an entrepreneurial mindset: Start things. Do things. Try things. Show up. Every woman on the panel had a story to share about why thinking and acting this way made a huge difference in her career from the early days to today. • Ask: Ask questions (the others in the room are probably thinking the same thing). Ask for help. Ask for advice. Ask for more. Ask for a break. You won’t get what you want or need if you don’t ask for it. Worst thing that can happen is a “no.” • Don’t be afraid to pivot. If it isn’t working after many years or if it if it isn’t working right away. Move. Try something else. PIVOT. Just keep moving. Don’t stand still and don’t let it break your spirit or confidence.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our first ever Women in Power Summit on Thursday evening. We had over 100 women from all walks of life join us here at RPA for networking, inspiration, and connection. Special thanks to Kirsten Atkinson, Rochelle Newman-Carrasco, Lilly Yeatman, Matana LePlae, and Mia von Sadovszky, for an incredible panel conversation, and to Cecilia Gorman, Lindsay Benitez, and Madeline Keider for empowering breakout sessions. I loved seeing old friends (Erika Safir, Rhonda Fortner, Jill Pool, Tracy N. and more) and making a TON of new connections myself! I've already started thinking about Women in Power Summit 2025 - we will be bigger, better, and hybrid for next years event! See you all then! And thank you to Amy Seidner and Nicola Galassi for the pictures!

The art of concise messaging When you are answering a question, making a pitch or simply expressing your point of view in a meeting, do you get straight to the point and then support it with brief but compelling evidence? Or do you flounder around, spilling out your thoughts randomly until you eventually land on your conclusion as if by accident? For many of the people I work with, this latter approach is the default, which they need to be coached out of. Because the problem is that listening is hard work, listeners have short attention spans and are easily distracted. By the time you arrive at your point they may have lost interest, lost your train of thought or even - if you are exceptionally long-winded - lost the will to live! Concise messaging is particularly vital when you are presenting to mixed tech and non-tech audiences, and this is the focus of the workshop I will be presenting at the Women of Silicon Roundabout conference being held at London's ExCeL Centre on November 27-28. I am proud to be representing PowerSpeaking, Inc., who are Gold Sponsors of this annual event where around 5000 women in technology come together to share information and ideas, network, and gain invaluable advice for advancing their careers. Carrie Beckstrom, CEO, will introduce speakers in select tracks of the conference. Sarah Palmer, Director of Business Development, EMEA, will give a series of short “popcorn sessions” focused on specific presentation and communication skills—which, by the way, were standing-room only at WIT Amsterdam. I will be presenting my one-hour workshop on both days. If you’re attending the conference, stop by our booth to grab some swag, tap into valuable career-development resources, and chat with us about how we can help accelerate your team's and organization’s performance through powerful communication skills. #communicationskills. #wit #wosr24 #womenintech #presentationskills #executivepresentations #technicalpresentations
