This week in annoying retrospective U-turns ↩: When I interviewed Blair Robertson of ad tech firm Innovid, the new CTV product was pitched as a game-changer for streamlining workflows for non-biddable media, by sidestepping DSPs and SSPs which are described as "unnecessary hops". Weirdly, Innovid then emailed post-article to voice disagreement that DSPs/SSPs are being cut from the equation for non-biddable media, despite this being the company's core argument for efficiency gains. Either way, the cost efficiencies that brands and publishers can make, by running campaigns directly through Innovid and skipping these extra hops (not to mention the green bragging rights), are potentially significant. So if someone could test the technology and let me know first-hand, that would be handy. Cheers then 👍
