Configuration over test stages such as download, upload and ping

Seamless integration into your custom UI

Flexible data delivery and reporting options

Complete network diagnostics

Integrated within your existing mobile or web application, the Speedtest SDK helps your customers troubleshoot their internet performance while providing you with rich insights into their network experience, including mobile network coverage and quality.

Determine a connection’s inbound bandwidth by testing how quickly it can download data

Determine a connection’s outbound bandwidth by testing how quickly it can upload data

Understand your connection quality by testing latency down to the millisecond

Diagnose network jitter by testing how your ping times are fluctuating

Determine signal strength and quality of mobile networks on Android and iOS phones

Speedtest Web SDK

Built in JavaScript, the Web SDK allows you to install Speedtest as the testing solution on your website. You can build the user interface to your exact specifications and configure individual test stages. Data can be delivered via extract or real-time feed.

Available data elements include:

  • Performance information (download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss)
  • Connection information (server name, server country, ISP, IP address)
  • Location information (latitude, longitude, server location, distance to server, location name)

Speedtest Mobile SDK

Available for iOS and Android applications, the Mobile SDK integrates seamlessly into your custom app UI and offers configuration over test stages and scheduled background testing in Android. Data is available to the integrating application directly and can also be delivered via enriched extract in CSV format or a JSON-formatted real-time feed.

Available data elements include:

  • Device information (brand, hardware, model, device manufacturer, device OS, chipset, chipset manufacturer)
  • Wi-Fi information (BSSID, MAC address, signal strength)
  • Connection information (network type, ISP, SIM provider)
  • Performance information (download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss)
  • Location information (latitude, longitude, altitude, server location, distance to server, location name)

The Android SDK also includes background coverage and signal quality scanning, as well as video experience testing.

Coverage and signal quality scanning provide:

  • Signal information (RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI, RSSNR, EARFCN, CQI, Cell ID)
  • 5G Signal information (SS-RSRP, SS-RSRQ, SS-SINR, CSI-RSRP, CSI-RSRQ, CSI-SINR, Cell ID)
  • More in-depth device, Wi-Fi, and connection information (Android API, security, network provider)

Video experience testing includes metrics such as:

  • Average media bitrate
  • Highest resolution achieved
  • Primary resolution rebuffering ratio
  • Start failures
  • Start time
