I come from a proud family of bar folk. My earliest memory involves being behind my dad’s bar, poking my tiny toddler finger into the disgusting holes of the bar mats, and sniffing the scent of stale beer. (I imagine that’s why, to this day, I can’t stand the aroma of beer. Wine or whiskey, please!) My paternal grandma Ann had a groovy retro rec room in her basement, complete with wood-paneled walls and all things olive green, brown, and orange. But the real kicker?

Yes, the bar is orange vinyl, the walls are wood paneling, and the carpet is shag. All are authentic. I can only imagine the parties that have occurred in the thirty-five or so years since this basement was "finished". Well, I remember those that have occurred since I bought the house eight years ago, but I think you know what I mean...
