Darwin is the capital of Australia's Northern Territory and a former frontier outpost. It's also a gateway to massive Kakadu National Park. Its popular waterfront area has several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. Also near the water is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art, plus a pearling lugger and other seafaring vessels.

After a couple of days exploring Darwin, Andrew and I were itching to get further afield and explore more of the Northern Territory. Infamous Kakadu National Park was high on the list, however we didn't quite have the time to do the area justice, so we decided to drive an hour and half south to Litchfield National Park. In late September 2017 I visited Alice Springs and the West Macdonnell Ranges. Whilst the unseasonal weather made photography challenging, we had some amazing experiences which proved the outback remains beautiful in whatever conditions you have on your visit.
