Dr. Matt Smith on Instagram: "CYCLISTS 1-LEG STABILITY
Here are 4 drills that I love for improving 1-leg stability. Each provides a slightly different stimulus for the lower body requiring stabilization and strength under varying conditions. I’m using an elevated surface of 6” for freedom of motion. But, these can be done on flat ground or even a bosu ball if you want to get freaky.

1) diagonal lift
2) frontal plane reach #1
3) frontal plane reach #2
4) ipsi / offset 1-leg squat

➡️Many of my patients/clients notice they have a stronger or more dominant side, which usually is caused by an injury - how our body adapts to that injury OR repetitive movements/sports where we are using one side more.

🔑Single-leg exercises promote strength and balance on both sides because they isolate the right and left side muscles.

Most of our daily movements like running, walking, jumping, and hiking are almost always off of one leg! So it’s important to practice those mov Side Muscles, Stability Exercises, Single Leg Deadlift, Leg Exercises, Muscle Imbalance, Leg Work, Low Back Pain, Back Exercises, Toned Body
