The main difference between glycolipid and glycoprotein is that glycolipid is a carbohydrate-attached lipid whereas a glycoprotein is a carbohydrate-attached protein. Functionally, glycolipids facilitate cellular recognition while glycoproteins serve as receptors for chemical signals.

The nucleolus is the central portion of the cell nucleus and consists of RNA. Its main role is RIBOSOME BIOGENESIS. (also occurs in Cytoplasm; where most cellular activities such as metabolic pathways including glycolysis, and cell division take place.)

Nucleus is the largest organelle in eukaryotic cells. It is surrounded by two membranes. Each one is a phospholipid bilayer containing many different types of proteins. The inner nuclear membrane defines the nucleus itself. In many cells the outer nuclear membrane is continuous with the rough ER and therefore the space between the inner and outer nuclear membrane is continuous with the lumen of the rough ER.
