DIY Ellsworth Kelly Painting.

My plan to create a million-dollar pair of "Ellsworth Kellys" to hang above the sofa in my den using two 48" by 24" gallery wrapped canvases, a pint of Liquitex professional acrylic paints, and a roll of Frog Tape masking tape.

"Drifting Away" Art Giclee Print of Original Blue Abstract Painting Marbled effect in shades of aqua, blue, sea foam green, white, grey, light blue… | Pinteres…
I painted the 48" by 24" gallery wrapped canvas with white acrylic paint, then I taped in 21 three inch squares with green Frog Tape masking tape. Next I will paint the untapped areas with phtalo blue paint straight out of the tube. I think I will have only one painting, oriented horizontally, rather than two oriented vertically.

This is a piece of art you can buy through MoMA but I think it would be fun to make it cheap DIY art with paint samples or something

Simply delightful "Ellsworth Kelly Quilt" by M. Soto. (I bet this would be super fun with 3 or 4 tiny print blocks snuck in!)

Ellsworth Kelly, chose and installed every work in the exhibit “Monet/Kelly” at Clark Art Institute. The abstractionist and the impressionist unexpectedly make a logical match.

Inspiration Piece: Ellsworth Kelly painting from a room designed by Mariette Himes Gomez, my favorite interior designer.
The pair of blank canvases and the spot over the sofa in my den where the finished painting will hang. I hope to create a million-dollar pair of "Ellsworth Kellys" using two 48" by 24" gallery wrapped canvases, a pint of Liquitex professional acrylic paints, and a roll of Frog Tape masking tape.
Schematic drawing of each painting in the pair -- except that the boarder will be completely symmetrical. The boarder will be in dark blue, and the 3" squares will be in medium blue with green highlights.
