Amethyst is the February Birthstone. --- About the Seller: I have been designing and hand crafting silver and gold jewelry for over 25 years, and generally work from my small studio in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I've made thousands of pieces of jewelry in my lifetime, continuing an artisan tradition in wood, fabric, and metal that goes back many generations in my family, to my Irish and Scottish ancestors. My work has appeared in many galleries and several publications over the years. Gems, metalwork, and artistry are passions for me. When not making jewelry, I create two dimensional artwork (drawings and paintings), and write educationally about rocks and history, drawing upon a background in the sciences, a degree in archeology from SMU in Texas and a PhD in geoscience (Space and Planetary Science) from the U. of Arkansas.
