Made in Italy Cameo Ring, Size 7, Solid 18K Gold Setting, .75" High x .625" Wide, 1980s

Along with the cameo pin my father bought for my mother on their first trip to Naples, Italy in 1984, he also bought her this pretty cameo ring. It is 18K gold and the cameo is set into a ruffle-edged bezel. The carved shell portrait is flawless and very pretty, not odd like some small cameo sculptures can be! The color is a traditional coral, and the cameo itself is more ivory than bright white. What make this cameo really special, besides the fact that it was hand made in Italy, is that mom wants to share it with the world. She can no longer slip it over her 85-year-old knuckles. But more importantly, she wants a special person to own this special gift from my dad and wear a little bit of their history together long into the future. In my family, we believe antiques should live on and be appreciated, not thrown away. As a jewelry designer, I wear my own designs. Mom understands. :)
