1880's, 34" bust, ecru silk faille, bustled and trained skirted wedding gown. A 19th century take on an 18th century lace up, low cut bodice. Bodice has a sharply pointed bottom, below waist, and 3/4 length cuffed sleeves. The bodice curves over hips, and is shorter in back than front. Bustled skirt has steel covered hoops built into back of skirt , and elaborate drapery forming into a long long train. Skirt has scalloped edge at bottom of the front, the bottom of train has a covered dust ruffle of stiff net gauze, and cotton padding. The front sides of skirt are bestowed with elaborate silk faille bows and ribbons. Skirt is fastened by two large metal hooks and eyes. Measurements: bust 34" waist 22" shoulder to shoulder 14" arm holes 7" sleeve length 15" shoulder to edge of bodice 17" skirt waist to hem front 40" skirt back including train 82" hips 38" Condition: good, gown is strong, no dry rot or weak spots, does have issues, round stain on right sleeve above cuff, slight underarm staining, padding under dust ruffle weak, silk lining inside bodice mostly removed, part of canvas lining under skirt removed.
