This is an antique seven-strand red coral cannetille beaded necklace. The coral beads are barrel-shaped and the round clasp is made of 14 karat yellow gold. The clasp is absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully adorned with filigree and cannetille work. It has a scalloped border with an openwork surface, decorated with small knots. The clasp is very skillfully handcrafted and gives the impression of lace or fine embroidery. The top represents a gold flower. These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands. It was part of the regional costume.
