This ring is one of the first pieces I've made using my new 20 ton press.(yay I formed the hand by melting scrap sterling silver, and pressing the silver in the die shown with my 20 ton hydraulic press. The band is half round sterling wire I rolled from melted scrap, and then hammered for texture. It's oxidized in the recessed areas, and tumbled for extra shine, as shown. All sterling silver scrap used is 925 sterling silver, these are leftover pieces from Rio Grande Jewelry Supply, scrap wire ends and sheet leftovers I've been saving for the last 15 years as I make things. The band and hand are completely made by my two hands. And my tools. I'm so excited about this! It's a perfect gift for anyone who makes or values handcrafting anything, literally representing the humble hand :)
