Who we are The Oxford Signet Ring Co. is a family run, award winning company experienced in the art of hand engraving. We have over 35 years experience in hand engraving starting with a 5 year apprenticeship with RH Wilkins before working for Asprey of Bond Street. Established in 1988 our workshop has been home to a group of very talented craftsmen and we have secured our position as a member of the guild of master craftsman. As a family we are very proud to be able to create family crest rings and offer them to the public at affordable prices. We know how important it is for a signet ring to be unique, which is why we only use traditional hand engraving tools to carve and bring to life your family crest, monogram or any design you wish to supply. Creating a Signet Ring 1. We start by stamping the ring from a solid gold metal plate.This is ideal for engraving as it leaves a perfectly flat surface. 2. Our skilled goldsmith will then size the ring accordingly before applying the 1st polish. The ring is then Hallarked by the Assay office to mark its purity. 3. Once we have the ring back from the Assay office it is now ready to be hand engraved to a very high level. 4. The ring is then given a final polish and placed into a wooden presentation box ready to be sent out to our next happy customer. Engraving styles If you need help researching your family crest or coat of arms please let us know, we have one of the largest databases of family crest in the british commonwealth! We are happy to provide a sketch prior to engraving for your approval or if you would like to see a sketch before hand we will charge £30.00 which can be deducted from the final price when you move ahead with the order. We can engrave anything you can imagine so if you have your own artwork or an idea we are happy to work with you to produce a piece of art which you will cherrish for a lifetime.
