About
We are The Market on 7th, but our friends call us The Market. We are North Carolina's OG food hall, but the thing that really makes us special is we are a place where local food, drinks, and gifts collide. As a nonprofit small business incubator, we help local entrepreneurs get their brilliant business ideas started in the Queen City, because you know what makes a city awesome? People (and all the crazy ideas that come with them). Oh, yeah-we also make damn good food, so drop in for a meal, a drink, or a conversation and rediscover how the Market brings all of us together in the heart of the city we love.

7th St Market has an awesome mixture of mid-range restaurants, including a pizza joint, gourmet cheese shop, coffee house, wine bar, and more. They validate parking for up to 90 minutes as well. Not everything was open on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t crowded at all!

This is interesting as there are many different choices of food. It is like a food court, but all selections are local and a big variety of foods. There are no national chains here. All the prices were very fair. It is worth a trip.

We stopped here for lunch before boarding the Funny Bus. Some restaurants were closed on Sunday due to staffing issues but there were plenty of delicious options available to us. We have visited here before while in town for a wedding so we knoe it was a place we wanted to revisit. The popcorn stand has some amazing Cheesy Caramel Corn. Who would have thought?????? Some of us shared a pizza that was tasty but some of us ordered panini sandwiches from the cheese stall. Bathrooms are clean.

This ended up being not what we expected. It is mostly food vendors so if you are hungry most likely good food. There is some shopping but not much. Parking costs three dollars for 20 minutes and three dollars for each additional 20 minutes. If you can walk there I would. There are some metered spots but not close by.

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon as we were visiting the nearby library. The market was fairly quiet. We ordered pizza from Gino D’s, the garlic knots were hot & very tasty, pizza followed soon & the large was just enough for our family of 5.

We stopped here for a mid afternoon snack. It is mainly a food court with maybe one or two non food shops. We got coffee from one place, a 10" pizza from another, and a regular drink from a third place. There are tables throughout, it's a busy, bustling place. Not a good place for a quiet chat. Fine to bring kids, and grab a quick bite.

This place is similar to a food court. We were here because of the A Tast of Carolina food tour. We were able to sample a Bacon Waffle that had delicious honey like syrup that had a slice of brie cheese and candied bacon from Sweet Waffle. It was absolutely delicious!!! Wish I had more!! The other sample was from Geno D's pizza. We were able to taste their breakfast pizza. The crust was thin and crunchy. Toppings of egg and bacon were delicious. Can't go wrong with either place.

Maybe I should have researched this one more? It was a small food hall, but when we went mid-morning on a Saturday, only a handful of places were open. Heard great things about the cheese, waffles and coffee shops. Was hoping for a few small stalls with local arts and gifts etc, but didn’t see any. We only stayed 15 min or so… Maybe it would have been great if you went specifically for a meal but not as a sightseeing destination. (We did see some beautiful street murals on the way to and from though!)

Stopped in for lunch while visiting the area. Not as good as Optimist Hall but this place has a variety of food vendors (wine, coffee, waffles, popcorn, pizza, meat and cheese shop). We actually ordered fresh pasta dishes from Mano Bella. Outstanding. Made fresh. We got a nice glass of wine and totally enjoyed ourselves.

My visit was 16 November 2022 for early dinner (to go). I was on a business trip. I saw the ratings which were good and although from the Northeast of USA, I never came across Garlic Knots, so it spiked my interest. The location of the restaurant is a location with other restaurants and stores. There is an above train at the location also for commuters. I had to park in parking garage but there is minimal street parking but also construction in area. I felt safe in the area. So, the knots were good and so was sauce. I’m a thin pizza/flat bread type. However, their Cannolis were to die for. I had the two, but if I could have brought a dozen to take back with me without costing me a lot of money, I would have. Oh my goodness, if in the area again, that is what I am coming for. I have not had a great cannolis in such a long time, I wanted to kiss the cook. So Geno D, thanks for that excellent recipe you have for your delicious cannolis. I’ll be back!

This is not a "market." It's a food court. We went at 10:00am on a Wednesday and it was dead. 2/3 of the vendors weren't even open. We got breakfast from the SC Cafe. It was essentially cafeteria food. There's nothing to do here. Not worth the trip.

Wanted to love it but…. Wanted to love it. We were seated and brought waters. Looked at the muni and waited some more. Server literally forgot about us. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt but couldn’t seem to get her to notice. Other people were seated and taken care of… we waited, waited some more. It gets to be toooo much when everyone is literally oblivious… And I mean oblivious to the point where 25 minutes later the hostess saw us get up to leave and was like “bye”… I was just like yeah we were just seated 25 minutes ago and our table still only has water on it… Yeah OK bye. Seemed like a cool place but sorry… service is everything in addition to the food… I can’t speak on the food because we were never served but the service was a turn off. I really hate giving low reviews to small businesses… But everyone’s got to do better in the service department these days. It’s severely lacking and that’s what’s going to set small business apart from big business.

2 adults, 2 kids, ages 3.5 and 5.5 It's a nice place to grab a bite. Superb if not crowded. Some unique vendors. Spot to fill your water bottle as well which is nice. Everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Went there last night at 440 for pizza. No one there told us they closed at 5 PM or we would not have ordered. We sat down to eat with my 2 younger children and the bartender came over yelling at us we had to leave. There were probably 8 other tables in the place and he did not say ONE word to anyone else but kept harassing us to the point our kids were in tears and thought he was going to follow us out. I will never support an establishment like this again. Learn how to treat people spending $ there!!!!

We went here for late breakfast before checking out of our hotel across the street. Plenty of seating (we got there before the crowds) and great food vendors to choose from. Everyone was very friendly and the food quality was great.
