Privacy statement for the processing of personal data collected in connection with vesi.fi web service user testing

This privacy statement contains the information that must be provided for the data subject in compliance with Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (2016/679). The statement explains how the Finnish Environment Institute collects, uses, discloses and stores personal data.

Legal basis for data processing / Our grounds for processing personal data

We process your personal data based on your consent (Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph a of the General Data Protection Regulation).

Types of personal data collected and the purpose of processing

The personal data we collect comprise the e-mail addresses of persons who participate in developing vesi.fi web service.

We use the personal data to organise the user testing of vesi.fi web service.

Personal data are not used for automated decision-making or profiling.

Sources of personal data

The data recorded in the register were disclosed by the data subjects.

Recipients of personal data

The data can only be accessed by persons who participate in developing the Finnish Environment Institute’s vesi.fi service. The service provider is a processor of personal data referred to in the General Data Protection Regulation who must comply with the instructions issued to them by the Finnish Environment Institute when processing the data.

Data are not disclosed to other actors or for additional purposes besides those mentioned above.

Protection of personal data

As the data controller, the Finnish Environment Institute has taken the necessary technical and organisational measures to protect the data and also requires any service providers used by it to take similar measures.

Storage of personal data

The personal data are stored while the Finnish Environment Institute needs them for the purposes of processing described in this statement. In keeping with the filing plan, the data are deleted at the end of the calendar year.

Your data protection rights related to processing of personal data

You have the right to know how and for what purpose your data are processed. The objective of this statement is to provide a comprehensive description of how we process personal data in our operations. Should you have any questions about our personal data processing, however, please send them to our contact person.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

If any of your personal data are inaccurate, you may request that we rectify them. If we rectify the data as a response to your request we are obliged to, as far as possible, inform all those to whom data were previously disclosed of the rectification. You also have the right to have your personal data deleted, and to restrict their processing. You additionally have the right to request that your data be transferred to another data controller.

As a data subject, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
