Douglas Griffiths leads Oak Foundation in addressing issues of global, social and environmental concern, particularly those that have a major impact on the lives of those furthest from opportunity.

Douglas is passionate about protecting the planet for current and future generations. Since January 2019, he has had the privilege of leading Oak Foundation. With staff on five continents, Oak Foundation makes grants to over 400 organisations in 40 countries for a value of over $450 million.

Before joining Oak Foundation, Douglas was a career diplomat promoting good governance, inclusion, and sustainable development across four continents.

Douglas has a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Notre Dame. He has lived in France, Puerto Rico, Canada, Portugal, Mozambique, Morocco, Switzerland, Haiti, Ecuador, Germany and the United States. He likes to spend every free moment in nature.
