Johnson faces an additional charge of aggravated battery to a police officer, a Class 2 felony.

A 16-year-old girl was also charged with one count of burglary and one count of retail theft. She was later released into her mother’s custody.

In a separate incident, 19-year-old Darnella Williams was charged with burglary and retail theft before being released, authorities said.

Police said Johnson, Thrasher, Booker, and the teen entered the Nordstrom Rack in Oak Brook, located at 2155 W. 22nd Street, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, stealing clothing, fragrances, and Marc Jacobs gift boxes worth more than $300.

The group exited the store and were apprehended by Oak Brook police outside.

During her arrest, Johnson allegedly fought with an officer, punching him in the chest and biting his right bicep, according to prosecutors.

Earlier that day, around 7 p.m., Williams entered the same Nordstrom Rack with an empty child car seat.

Authorities said she filled the seat with more than $715 worth of merchandise, including clothing and cosmetics, covered it with a blanket, and exited the store. A loss prevention officer confronted her outside and detained her.

"It is alleged that in two unrelated incidents, these five defendants helped themselves to more than three hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Nordstrom Rack store and simply walked out the door without paying," DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlinsaid. "To make matters worse, it is further alleged that one of the defendants, Shavaughn Johnson, fought with and bit an officer as he placed her under arrest. I want to make it perfectly clear, as we are now in the heart of the holiday season, in DuPage County we will not tolerate any type of behavior that disrupts our businesses or threatens public safety. I commend the Oak Brook Police Department for their extremely quick responses to these alleged criminal activities and for their vigilant efforts in keeping our businesses and patrons safe as they enjoy the holiday season. I thank Assistant State’s Attorneys Jennifer Nielsen and Michael Pingaj for their work in securing charges against these defendants."
