WHAT IS eSIM
eSIM (Embedded SIM) is an advanced sim technology which is embedded in customer’s phone (at the time of manufacturing of mobile phone) to activate mobile number without inserting a physical SIM. The SIM stores all information that is necessary to identify and authenticate the mobile subscribe by downloading profile through QR code.
eSIM REGISTRATION & ACTIVATION PROCESS
- Customer has to visit nearest Zong Customer Service Centre / Franchise to get eSIM
- eSIM can be availed by Book Your Number option or by replacing any existing Zong number with eSIM
- After BVS verification for BYN / SIM Replacement, MSISDN & ICCID will be mapped with eSIM Profile
- A physical voucher having eSIM QR code will be handed over to the customer
- Customer has to scan the QR code by following below process to downloaded eSIM profile
- The device / mobile should be connected to internet / Wifi
- Select cellular settings from the device settings option
- Select Add Cellular Plan option under cellular settings
- Open mobile camera to scan the QR code
- Once the QR code is scanned. eSIM Profile will be downloaded on device and eSIM will be ready to use
Step by Step Activation
For Your iPhone
- Make sure iPhone X, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR is updated to iOS 12.1 and above (you can check eSIM enabled handsets in Handset Supported section below
- Scan the QR code provided by our agent
- Go to Settings > Cellular
- Select “Add Cellular Plan” to launch the camera automatically
- Use your iPhone to scan the QR code
- Type default code “0000” when asked to enter
For Your Android Phone
- Make sure your eSIM enabled Android handset is updated to latest version (you can check eSIM enabled handsets in Handset supported section below)
- Scan the QR code provided by our agent
- Go to Setting > Sim Card Manager
- Select eSIM > Add Mobile Plan to launch the camera automatically
- Use your phone to scan the QR code
- Type default pin code “0000” when asked to enter
- Your eSIM is ready to use
eSIM CHARGES
Rs. 1500 will be charged from customer for eSIM.

Can I downloaded the eSIM profile on multiple devices?
No. eSIM profile can be downloaded on one device only. On the same device user can downloaded the same Esim profile multiple times after removing previous profile whereas it can't be download on any other devices even after removing it
What will be the charges of eSIM?
Rs. 1500 will be charged for eSIM
eSIM profile can be downloaded before the mapping of eSIM to any MSISDN?
No, Customer can downloaded eSIM profile after the mapping of eSIM with any MSISDN
Is Biometric verification required for getting eSIM?
Bio metric verification will be required prior to eSIM activation.
What if I want to change my handset, can I re-scan existing QR code?
A new QR code is required if you switch your phone or your old eSIM profile is deleted.
Can I share the eSIM QR code with anyone?
For security reasons, please do not share the QR code with anyone.
Do I have to get the eSIM IMEI registered by PTA?
eSIM activates eSIM IMEI on your phone. In order to avoid blocking in DIRBS please perform the following steps.
- Send both IMEIs to 8484
- Send screenshots of your IMEI land IMEI 2 in an email to [email protected] for whitelisting
- lf tax is not paid, kindly pay the phone tax first to keep using eSIM
