Emily Prentiss article subject to deletion proposal.
[edit]The Emily Prentiss page has been recently nominated for deletion. You previously have made major edits to the article, so I am notifying you about the current deletion discussion that is occurring here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emily Prentiss (2nd nomination)
Please note that I am not the one who proposed it be deleted. I am simply informing you of the discussion occurring since you've made major contributions to the article before. DocZach (talk) 14:08, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Crafterstar - for the record you did nothing wrong whatsoever, and almost anyone can contribute to an AfD discussion, and it is encouraged. You were notified about the discussion and you contributed. While I disagree with your reasoning, that is also encouraged, as that is how consensus works! I would say you DO NOT owe anyone an apology for voicing your opinions on the matter. Rather what Jontesta discovered was that DocZach specifically picked two people (out of over 400 people who have edited the article) to contribute which appears to violate WP:CANVASS which is prohibited, especially because you do not appear to satisfy WP:APPNOTE. You had no way of knowing this, so your initial participation is fine -- only if you agree that your participation might fit into WP:CANVASS and WP:APPNOTE then you can completely optionally elect to strike your vote, and instead replace it with a comment. But I don't have a strong opinion on this, but rather suggest it might be an appropriate response to your initial question of
Am I supposed to apologise
. TiggerJay (talk) 02:59, 12 December 2024 (UTC)- For the record once again:
- It has come to my attention that @Crafterstar apparently has a sockpuppet, @Ebbedlila, which I did not know was a sockpuppet at the time of notifying him on this talk page about the deletion proposal. One of the most significant recent edits on the Emily Prentiss article that I saw when looking at the edit history was from @Ebbedlila, which stated that +20,610 [4] characters were added. I did not realize at the time that [1] it was a revert, and [2] whenever you click @Ebbedlila, it automatically takes you to @Crafterstar's account. I already apologized for misunderstanding that the edit was a revert, but for @Tiggerjay to consistently act as if I've violated policy is borderline defamatory and assuming bad faith. DocZach (talk) 05:18, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- @DocZach I will not engage with you on this topic on someone else’s talk page.. You’re welcome to reply to the existing thread over at AfD, or my talk page. I have made my rationale quite clear over on the AfD. TiggerJay (talk) 06:03, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Crafterstar - with regards to your participation in this article and/or AfD should have precious little to do with your prior sock issues, and is a red herring for a few reasons: (1) you appear to have been genuinely contributing since your trouting; and (2) you appear to be well knowledgeable and versed in the TV category, and (3) neither account has made any significant editing. While I don't want to appear "soft" on sock puppetry, but I firmly believe in honest WP:FRESHSTARTs for constructive editors. If you become frustrated over undue scrutiny due to your past, may I suggest you consider some of the options under fresh start, as well as removing the redirect from the prior sock. CheerSs! TiggerJay (talk) 14:45, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
Tiggerjay, I have struck my opposition in the AFD. Crafterstar (talk) 15:14, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
Consensus at Talk:Dyson spheres in popular culture#Merge into Dyson sphere was to merge with Dyson sphere. WP:Consensus can change, but if it is to be overturned that would mean splitting it off from Dyson sphere again and that would necessitate a split discussion at Talk:Dyson sphere. I have (again) reverted your edit. If you think we should have a separate article Dyson spheres in popular culture, raise that point at Talk:Dyson sphere. TompaDompa (talk) 11:44, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- The article that was merged, was 8800 bytes. The one I had, is much larger.Crafterstar (talk) 02:02, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- That's because you restored a version prior to the massive cleanup that preceded the merge. The version you restored it to would have needed to be cleaned up again, and we would have been back where we started. TompaDompa (talk) 23:16, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- cleanup by removing content? Crafterstar (talk) 23:21, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Removing unsourced and improperly-sourced content is part of it, yes, alongside adding properly-sourced content. TompaDompa (talk) 14:24, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
