Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Hindu temples in Gampaha District
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Hindu temples in Gampaha District indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 08:22, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
Jeevan Thondaman:
This article may lend undue weight to certain ideas, incidents, or controversies. |
This article includes a list of general references, but it lacks sufficient corresponding inline citations. |
What would be your suggestions to improve this. Thanks in advance. EnoughError (talk) 17:27, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- @EnoughError: Half the article is devoted to controversies which is WP:UNDUE. It needs to be trimmed significantly. You don't need to have separate sections for each controversy either. Ideally the controversies shouldn't be contained in a separate section but included with the main biographical detail so that the article flows well - see WP:NOCRIT.
- You have provided citations but placed them all at the end of paragraphs, this is a bad habit. There should be citations after each sentence. If you have used a single source for more than one piece of information that you added, you can repeat a citation - see WP:REPEATCITE.--Obi2canibe (talk) 21:04, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. Will fix this. EnoughError (talk) 10:01, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
Case fixing edits are not pointless
[edit]My edits you reverted like here are meant to be constructive improvements, bringing the article style more in line with the recommendations of MOS:CAPS. If some of what I did there was not right, per guidelines, let me know, and we can discuss. Most of the changes (making table headings and entries in sentence case, not title case) are certainly per guideline, and I will be re-doing them, probably later today. Line breaks should have hyphen at end of first line
[edit]If you really need to break words across lines to make a table less wide, the way to do that is with a hyphen at the end of the first line, not at the start of the second line. Please go back and fix all those. Dicklyon (talk) 21:28, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Obi2canibe There is no need to have the such awkward breaks in the table. Please revert back to the fixes I had performed. If you still feel that the dashes are required, please start a talk page discussion/any place that seems suitable. I am open to a Wikipedia:Third opinion or if needed. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 13:54, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Your latest round of changes was better, but still had some problems. I edited one to show what I think is a better way. No opinion on whether the line breaks for making the table narrower are worth the trouble. Dicklyon (talk) 22:02, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
