The result of the discussion was Keep. Blanking is typically an editorial issue, no MFD required, and it is clear from the discussion that most participants do not object to keeping the page in its current truncated form. --RL0919 (talk) 10:26, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
SPA user page, promotional advertising, strikes me as a likely violation of WP:UPNOT. j⚛e deckertalk 19:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Delete. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for propaganda, advertising and showcasing. Salvio Let's talk about it! 20:49, 17 October 2010 (UTC)- On second thoughts, I agree with Graeme Bartlett and Cunard; it would be useful to know about the coi disclosure; so, I change my !vote to blank. - mostly blank the page, but keep the first sentence, then others may understand what this user may be trying to do with their edits. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:09, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:SOAP. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 12:52, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- Keep but blank portions of the page. Keep:
Blank everything else beginning from:Hello, I am the campaign manager of New Jersey politician, 2008 New American Independent Party Vice President nominee to Frank McEnulty, and 2012 Democratic President nominee, Bobby Klingler.
Although this page should be about me, I would like to use it to explain things that Bobby believes in order to run the country successfully.
Generally, I would concur with deleting the entire page and the page history when the content violates WP:SOAP. But in this case, the page contains a WP:COI disclosure, namely that this user works for Frank McEnulty. Therefore, I support blanking parts of the page over deletion to allow the disclosure to remain transparent. Cunard (talk) 07:08, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- blank as nom The blanking suggestions above balance WP:SOAP with WP:COI disclosure well. --j⚛e deckertalk 16:04, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- Keep As essentially harmless use of userspace - "COI" is not intended for folks telling us about themselves. No Spam (Spam is not applied to WP bluelinks!). And all user pages about the user are intrinsically there to be about the user :). As for it being "advertising" - ads do not simply link to WP articles as a rule. No need to blank - nothing there which is actionable that I can see. Collect (talk) 10:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete or Blank Most There is a BLP issue to this page because there is no verification that any of those things are true or that the person is a campaign manager. The userpage of a campaign manager (if it's not a hoax) is not to be used to promote your candidate in a current election. Put all that on the campaign website. EdEColbertLet me know 07:19, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Keep as severely cut. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 06:38, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
