Template talk:Red
Template:Red is permanently protected from editing because it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit template-protected}} to notify an administrator or template editor to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.
Any contributor may edit the template's sandbox. Functionality of the template can be checked using test cases. |
Text and/or other creative content from this version of Template:Red was copied or moved into incubator:Template:Wp/nod/red with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. |
This template was considered for deletion on 12 August 2005. The result of the discussion was "keep". |
Red links
[edit]Red links mean an article does not exist. Please do not mislead people by using this confusing template to make links red when they should not be. I've removed it from Template:Cleanup. Angela. 03:02, Aug 8, 2004 (UTC)
Edit request
[edit]{{editprotected}}
Please remove the usage section and replace it with the
template as I've created a documentation subpage at Template:Red/doc. A specific description of the request follows below. Thanks.
{{Documentation}}
Change this:
<span style="color:red">{{{1}}}</span><noinclude> ==== Usage ==== My <nowiki>{{red|color}}</nowiki> text. Produces:<br/> My <span style="color:red">color</span> text. [[Category:text color templates]] [[ar:قالب:أحمر]] [[es:Plantilla:Rojo]] [[sr:Шаблон:Црвено]] [[vi:Tiêu bản:Đỏ]] </noinclude>
To this:
<span style="color:red">{{{1}}}</span><noinclude> <!-- Add categories and interwikis to the /doc subpage, not here! --> {{Documentation}}</noinclude>

Edit request (again)

Hate to do this to another administrator, but there is an empty line at the very top that needs to be removed. It is causing a new line to be placed on pages where it is used.
In other words, we don't want
this to happen when the template is used.
Change this:
<span style="color:red">{{{1}}}</span><noinclude> {{pp-template|small=yes}} <!-- Add categories and interwikis to the /doc subpage, not here! --> {{Documentation}}</noinclude>
To this:
<span style="color:red">{{{1}}}</span><noinclude> {{pp-template|small=yes}} <!-- Add categories and interwikis to the /doc subpage, not here! --> {{Documentation}}</noinclude>

- This change doesn't need consensus. Besides, signatures should not have templates in them for various reasons. --Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 22:20, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
