Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence, scenes of moderate horror and use of bad language. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Action roguelike shooter set in a prison-like environment. The player assumes the role of one of the last remaining guards and must fight through monsters, rivals, and the reanimated corpses of fellow guards to escape the penitentiary.

Content specific issues

This game contains moderate violence towards human and fantasy characters. Combat in the game is frenetic, with non-realistic reactions from enemies. Flashes of light are seen on impact, along with number damage that appears above the characters heads. When killed or defeated, enemies fall to the ground, and after a few seconds, their bodies disappear completely, leaving behind a small puddle of blood (this blood remains on the ground throughout the rest of the level). At times, creatures are heard grunting as they drop to the ground. Cut scenes are depicted in a comic book, still-image style, and often, these will have scenes with disturbing images, such as a man attacking a character with large amounts of blood present. There are also boss characters in this game whose appearance may be scary to younger players, with large sharp fangs, and intimidating features. This game contains the use of bad language, including ‘shit’, ‘asshole’, ‘goddamn’, ‘wanker’, ‘piss’ and ‘nonce’.

Advice for consumers

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.

Brief outline of the game

Civilisation manager in which players build and expand their village into a powerful Aztec empire.

Content specific issues

This game contains depictions of non-realistic looking violence towards human and animal characters. Hunters are armed with spears and wander the environment, searching for deer. When a target is spotted, a spear will fire from the hunter in the direction of the deer and disappear. The deer will then fall to the ground in a puddle of blood. After a while, the carcass will disappear and the blood will fade away. At times, enemy warriors will attack the city. Warriors are armed with spears, which they wave and throw at the settlements.  Characters have life meters which deplete if they are attacked. These characters show no physical responses nor are any wounds seen. Upon death, characters fall to the ground in a puddle of blood. Sacrifices are seen during gameplay. When performing a sacrifice, a non-detailed person can be seen lying on an altar, while a priest stands over them. The priest and victim both then disappear, replaced by a large amount of blood on the pyramid steps, which fades away. No actual killing or gore is depicted here.

Other issues

Characters wear period appropriate Aztec clothing and as such, some of the female characters are depicted topless, although no nipples are shown and there is nothing sexual in their behaviour.
