Huge milestone for #IPBES11! Delegates successfully approved the Summaries for Policymakers (SPMs) of two groundbreaking assessments: ✅ The Nexus Assessment, emphasising the critical interconnections between biodiversity, climate, water, food, and health. ✅ The Transformative Change Assessment, addressing the systems and pathways needed to drive sustainable change. From RESPIN's perspective, these approvals reflect the growing importance of a strong science-policy interface—where knowledge meets decision-making. Strengthening links between platforms like IPBES and IPCC and fostering dialogue between policymakers and knowledge holders, remains essential to address biodiversity and climate challenges effectively. A heartfelt thank you to the IPBES experts and authors for their contributions and efforts in making these reports a reality! This is a step forward in bridging science, policy, and action for a better future. We eagerly await the release of the landmark reports!

  • The LIFE RIPARIAS conference was a resounding success! Centered around the theme "Innovative Tools and Approaches for the Management of Biological Invasions," the event marked an important milestone in the project’s journey. This event was organized by the Belgian Biodiversity Platform's, Sonia Vanderhoeven. To celebrate its third anniversary, LIFE RIPARIAS hosted a one-day international conference, showcasing its progress at the halfway point and highlighting its workflow on a global platform. The conference also fostered knowledge exchange, bringing together stakeholders from across Europe, including managers, institutional representatives, policymakers, conservation organizations, and scientists, all dedicated to addressing biological invasions. Featuring eight distinguished speakers—both international and national—the program explored a wide array of topics, from eDNA methodologies to ecosystem resilience. This event provided a remarkable opportunity to engage with leading experts, exchange ideas on cutting-edge tools and strategies for managing invasive species, and stay informed about the latest developments in the field.
