English: This is a template to add standard parent categories to categories like Category:18th-century people of Japan. It normally takes two arguments (country and century); if a third argument is present, even a null argument, "the" will be affixed before the country name. Examples:

By default, BCE centuries are not displayed in the navigation box. To display BCE centuries in the navigation box, include the named parameter displaybc. Examples:
