We’re thrilled to announce another marvellous milestone: German Accelerator is expanding to Africa! 🌍
This remarkable step adds #Africa as the 5th continent where #GermanAccelerator supports startups in their global journeys.
On my very first business visit to Africa, I had the privilege of exploring #Nairobi in #Kenya, one of Africa’s largest startup hubs. With one of the fastest-growing GDPs on the continent, Kenya is a beacon of innovation and growth, perfectly aligned to become a gateway market for German Accelerator startups to dynamic East Africa.
The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck at the German-African Business Summit (GABS) 2024. Together with GCCC/EXIST - Existenzgründungen aus der Wissenschaft, StArfrica - Startup Germany-Africa, and the Digital Hub Initiative, we brought 20 exceptional startups to #GABS2024 to showcase their innovations, connect with leaders and explore this exciting new market.
It was unforgettable to give a new stage to the founders of Voltfang, refuel.green consulting & technologies GmbH, Save the Grain, Exseede, DeepFile 🔍, Green Meter, Gizil, authentic.network, Global South Holding, Project Noor, agriBORA, BlackInTech Berlin, RecyCoal GmbH, We!Masomo 💙🧡, Dustlight, fracto, Rushlake Media GmbH, BiogasUnite, biglittlethings., UFUNDI, BENA CARE LTD, Solarworx sharing this experience with Oliver Hunke, Christina Ronhardt, Stefanie Burgdorff, Maximilian Sieghardt, Harald Von Korflesch, Meike Neitz, Matthias Möbius and our team being part of #StartupGermany.
With access to 1,300+ mentors and experts already in our network, we’re ready to support startups in creating meaningful partnerships and navigating Africa’s dynamic ecosystems. This is more than just logos on a map - it’s about defining actionable collaborations like mutual mentoring, resource sharing, and joint events.
