The station consists of two unnumbered ground-level side platforms connected by a level crossing.[1] The station is unattended.

History

Sanyo-Sone Station opened on August 19, 1923 as Sonecho Station (曽根町駅).[1] It was renamed Dentetsu Sone Station (電鉄曽根駅) in February 1924 and to its present name on April 7, 1991.[1]

The station building received renovations in 1989.[1]

In fiscal 2018, the station was used by an average of 1844 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[2]
