Ocean Productions Inc. Wikipedia update

edit

Hi folks, it's June 11 2018. Hi all, heads-up as this will likely be considered COI, but we are updated the page again as someone reverted it back to information based off of articles over 20 years old. The edits made to this article today reflect our current business endeavors. Any questions, please let us know. OPI

Hi all,

There appears to be someone named "Starrman22", (unrelated to Ocean Productions Inc.) editing the site a lot today and using poor grammar as well.

Please disregard all edits/updates from "Starrman22".

Your assistance in keeping the information on this site accurate is very much appreciated.

Ocean Updates - PLEASE FACT CHECK

edit

Hi everyone, when editing this page please fact check before adding or removing titles and any other information.

I removed all the My Little Pony shows that were not worked on by Ocean.

Questionable western productions

edit

I did some digging and I don't see Ocean credited for Beast Wars: Transformers (credits list Pinewood Sound), Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-lot (credits list Koko Studios), or Dragon Tales (BLT and Koko). Did they only do specific episodes or did someone confuse Vancouver voice actors for an Ocean production? Damnedfan1234 (talk) 17:07, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I removed Beast Wars, Dragon Tales, Ed, Edd n Eddy and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. As far as I can tell, they were recorded in Vancouver, but Ocean wasn't involved with them. Damnedfan1234 (talk) 04:42, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Table instead of a huge list

edit

This article mainly consists of a list of the company's body of works, but I think having separate sections for Bluewater and Ocean has become outdated. If you look at most of their recent shows, you'll notice they're recording at both locations. Thoughts on converting the current list into a table like this? He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002 series)

edit

He-man and the Masters of the Universe (2002 series) HAS TO BE INCLUDED in the list of western animations!

- Lisa Ann Beley (plays Teela, also played Chi-Chi in DBZ)

- Donald Brown (plays Evilseed, also played King Kai, Shenron, Mr. Satan, Burter and Kibito in DBZ)

- Brian Dobson (plays Skeletor/Keldor, Buzz-Off, Webstor, King Hiss, Sssqueeze and Ceratus, also played Dr. Gero, Majin Buu, Future Gohan and Vodka in DBZ)

- Paul Dobson (plays Man-E-Faces, Snake Face, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops and Chief Carnivus, also played Zarbon, Dodoria, Dr. Brief and Korin in DBZ)

- Brian Drummond (played Odiphus/Stinkor, Tuvar and Belza, also played Vegeta, Yajirobe, Fortuneteller Baba, Vegito, Pikkon and Yamu in DBZ)

- Gabe Khouth (played Mekaneck and Orko, also played adult Goten in DBZ)

- Scott McNeil (played Beast Man, Clawful, Mer-Man, Ram Man, Stratos, Kobra Khan and Calix, also played Piccolo, Majin Buu, Old Supreme Kai, Android 16, Dr. Brief, Jeice, Turtle, South Kai, Dabura, Killa, Mercenary Tao, Farmer, King Piccolo and Mez in DBZ)

- Richard Newman (played General Rattlor, Lord Dactys, The Faceless One and Azdar, also played Captain Ginyu, Oolong (Second voice), Porunga, Banan, Strock and Additional Voices in DBZ)

I could cite other examples, such as from X-men:Evolution, but you get my point. You have listed both DBZ and X-men: Evolution in their dubbing lists, so why not include He-man as well when I just proved that it belongs on the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalheadgamer (talkcontribs) 14:17, 1 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

He-Man isn't listed because the show wasn't recorded at Ocean. You can check the credits sequence. It directly states the show was produced at Koko Productions. Compare this to Dragon Ball Z and X-Men Evolution, which specifically mentioned Ocean. Ocean refers to a singular company. It is not shorthand for everything recorded in Vancouver. Koko is its own separate company, with no ties to Ocean beyond the fact that they use the same actors because they're based in the same location. It would be like merging Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Studiopolis and NYAV Post together because they use a lot of the same talent. Damnedfan1234 (talk)
