Numbering of sayings
editSome references in the article don't seem to match the English versions I have read, but they don't agree with each other. For example, "It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, but neither are you at liberty to desist from it" is listed as 2:21 in the article, but the Chabad version has this at 2:16 and the Charles Taylor translation has this at 2:19. Are there multiple reference schemes for this work? Marfinan (talk) 14:01, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Simon the Just
editThe translation for the guy I think you are talking about is Simon the Righteous (the word is Tzadik). Is he known as Simon the Just? PeanutALK 07:31, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Shimon ha-Tzaddik is often referred to as "Simon the Just". JFW | T@lk 10:56, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Tzadik (or Tsadik) can be translated as either Righteous or Just. Also Pious, Saintly, etc. Tzedek (Tsedek) or Tsedaka is "Righteousness" or "Justice." Tsedaka is also "Charity," in the sense of "Almsgiving." Erudil 16:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
CleanUp
editThere seems to be a glitch at the bottom of the page. I see some naked mark-up code.
One of the links at they you are a doos bottom of the page re-directs to a bookstore in the UK selling old books for hundreds of pounds. That doesn't seem correct. I don't know enough to delete the link, but maybe someone can make poes calls. Thanks. 10/4/08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.225.86.186 (talk) 12:32, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
In april 2012 the article ends with a reference to a chinese translation. Why just China? Is it especially remarkable? For me it seems out of context in an article that discusses content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.144.0.5 (talk) 12:05, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Pronunciation of the title
editNo need to have a long paragraph about the Hebrew name's pronunciation. We all know there are various styles of pronunciation. Those who do not should be refereed to a page regarding Hebrew pronunciation. Benqish (talk) 20:09, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
