Request reason:

I've done edited with using some minor edits in User:Hatto. However, I didn't understand why I was blocked. I don't do vandalism (in fact, I've never be blocked until November 2021). Was I blocked because of only use of some minor edits? Would be I unblocked if it's no problem? Can you unblock User:Hatto so that User:Hatto0467 can remain blocked? And is it possible to merge User:Hatto0467 edit history into User:Hatto if I'm unblocked? (sorry, I'm not good at English because I'm from Japan.)

Decline reason:

Per below, user has been unblocked, so this is moot. — Daniel Case (talk) 20:18, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

--Hatto (talk) 13:27, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You are marking every edit you make as a "minor edit". You may be doing this unintentionally, but it appears to others that you may be attempting to avoid scrutiny of your edits by others. You also, until now, were not communicating with us. Communication is required for this collaborative project. 331dot (talk) 14:12, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You were originally blocked and then created a new account to evade the block. See WP:Sockpuppetry. Doug Weller talk 14:41, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I wrote these replies using DeepL Translator because of my poor English.

@331dot: Perhaps I didn't communicate because I didn't understand English very well. (I'm Japanese) Now that I think about it, I'm very sorry about that. --Hatto (talk) 14:59, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Doug Weller: I noticed that there was a talk about me in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Block review requested. I'm Japanese and not good at English, so I'm not sure about some things, but it seems that some users insist that I should be unblocked. I used to use "minor edit" without really understanding it until I was blocked in 2008, but now I've reflected on it and stopped using it a lot. Am I really going to be unblocked? --Hatto (talk) 14:59, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Have you read WP:Minor edit. I have family in Japan, by the way. Doug Weller talk 17:04, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: Thank you for unblocking User:Hatto0467! But can you unblock User:Hatto if it's no problem? Instead, please block User:Hatto0467 and I won't use it again. I'm so sorry for sockpuppet. --Hatto (talk) 15:25, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Hatto if you'd like me to do that can you flip the redirect so User:Hatto0467 points here and there is a disclosure of the other account on this userpage? Barkeep49 (talk) 16:08, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: I'm very very sorry. As mentioned above, I'm not good at English, so I use DeepL Translator to write my replies. I may not have understood the meaning very well. Does it mean that I need to redirect User:Hatto0467 to User:Hatto by myself? --Hatto (talk) 16:23, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
I will clarify. Please redirect User:Hatto0467 to User:Hatto. Please write on User:Hatto that you were also User:Hatto0467. Barkeep49 (talk) 16:37, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: Is this OK? Please see User:Hatto and User:Hatto0467. --Hatto (talk) 16:54, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes. I have unblocked this account. Barkeep49 (talk) 17:25, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: Thank you for unblocking me! And can you merge User:Hatto0467's edit history into User:Hatto if it's possible? --Hatto (talk) 22:47, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't think it's possible to merge your accounts. I think you can copy User:Hatto0467's watchlist to this account though, if you want to. Philbert2.71828 07:55, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Advice: Never tick the "minor edit" box. You don't lose anything by not ticking it, and if you're not sure you understand when to mark as minor then it's safer to never mark as minor. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 21:52, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Unblocked in the Italian Wikipedia

edit

@Barkeep49: Long time no see. Actually, since User:Hatto was blocked in the Italian Wikipedia in 2008, I have been using Hatto0467 instead. Sorry for the other language version, but is it still possible to block Hatto0467 and unblock Hatto here? (I think perhaps the reason is that I moved the article as follows, but this does not seem to be a serious enough reason to be blocked indefinitely.)

  • The pillows → The Pillows
  • Ayumi hamasaki → Ayumi Hamasaki
  • Kawamura Ryuichi → Ryuichi Kawamura
  • MALICE MIZER → Malice Mizer
  • The GazettE → The Gazette
  • Utada Hikaru → Hikaru Utada
  • Ogura Yuko → Yuko Ogura

@Hatto0467:/Hatto. I have unblocked User:Hatto0467 and blocked this account. You will need to update user/user talk so they don't redirect here. Barkeep49 (talk) 20:41, 15 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49:@Vituzzu: Perhaps I have misled you as my English is not very good. No, I didn't request to unblock User:Hatto0467 at all. I'm talking about whether or not it is possible to unblock User:Hatto and block User:Hatto0467 in the Italian Wikipedia (:it:Utente:Hatto of the Italian version has been blocked by it:Utente:Vituzzu since March 2008). Therefore, I didn't understand why User:Hatto0467 was unblocked and User:Hatto was blocked at all. You do not need to block User:Hatto and unblock User:Hatto0467 in the English version because I would like to continue to use User:Hatto as I always have, not User:Hatto0467. I am very concerned that I will never be able to use User:Hatto again because it was blocked (In fact, I have never used User:Hatto0467 since User:Hatto was unblocked in November 2021.). I am very sorry for you, but I have no intention of using User:Hatto0467 at all anymore, so could you please block User:Hatto0467 and unblock User:Hatto again? --Hatto (talk) 00:36, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Doug Weller: Hello, long time no see. You have helped me in unblocked section in November 2021. I wrote a reply to User:Barkeep49 but it has not come yet and I asked you because you mentioned earlier that you have family in Japan. User:Hatto0467 was unblocked and User:Hatto was blocked again. However, this was not my intention at all, as User:Hatto0467 was unblocked even though I have no intention of using User:Hatto0467 in the future. Perhaps I misled the user because I am Japanese and not fluent in English. I asked about the unblock of User:Hatto on the Italian Wikipedia, which somehow led to User:Hatto being blocked on the English version. (Please read above for more details.) I did not request to unblock User:Hatto0467 and block User:Hatto, so I have no idea why this happened yesterday. Could you please block User:Hatto0467 and unblock User:Hatto again? I am very very afraid that I will never be able to use User:Hatto again in the future. (I don't know if my English is conveyed well to you, but I hope it is.) --Hatto (talk) 02:30, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49 pinging you as I'm not clear about this request. Sorry Hatto. Doug Weller talk 08:58, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Doug Weller: @Barkeep49: As stated above, I will state again. I have been blocked by it:Utente:Vituzzu since March 2008 as per the Italian version contributions. However, I have only moved articles such as "The pillows" to "The Pillows", "MALICE MIZER" to "Malice Mizer", "Ayumi hamasaki" to "Ayumi Hamasaki" and "Ogura Yuko" to "Yuko Ogura" etc, and I still have no idea why User:Hatto was blocked indefinitely. Are these article moves so bad vandalism that I will be blocked indefinitely? I don't think so. So I asked User:Barkeep49 if he could unblock the Italian version of User:Hatto and somehow User:Hatto0467 was unblocked while User:Hatto was blocked in English Wikipedia. I never understood why User:Hatto0467 was unblocked and User:Hatto was blocked as I never intended to use User:Hatto0467 in English Wikipedia at all in the future. Will I never be able to use User:Hatto again? I am very worried about that. --Hatto (talk) 15:35, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should I ask it:User:Vituzzu who blocked me if he can unblock User:Hatto? And can you unblock English Wikipedia's User:Hatto and block User:Hatto0467 again? --Hatto (talk) 16:06, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: @Doug Weller: I am curious as to why you have not answered my question, but I thought you might be busy and I thought it might be better to be considerate and not rush you, so I kept quiet. However, I do not intend to use User:Hatto0467 at all in the future and would like to continue to use User:Hatto. I have a question about replying to you and unblocking User:Hatto, so please reply to my question.(In addition, I wrote about the unblocking User:Hatto in it:Discussioni utente:Hatto#Unblocked.) --Hatto (talk) 11:52, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have been quite busy and so this is my first chance to actually look at these pings. I do not know how to be unblocked on Italian Wikipedia. Asking Vituzzu is a good step. I will return the blocks to the way that they had been. Barkeep49 (talk) 13:43, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for your reply. I thought I was being ignored by you. But why did you block User:Hatto again as "Misunderstanding. Restoring block, with Hatto0467 unblocked"? You unblocked User:Hatto once with "Misunderstanding. Unblocking and re-blocking Hatto0467", which is correct! I am not going to switch to User:Hatto0467 again, so it is User:Hatto you should unblock. I am not a native speaker of English and I may have misled you, so I ask you to do the following so as not to misunderstand you.
  • User:Hatto → unblocking
  • User:Hatto0467 → re-blocking
--Hatto (talk) 23:44, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I do not understand what you want. I have unblocked this account and you told me it was wrong. I blocked this account and you tell me it's wrong. So I have left this for soemone else who understands what you want. Barkeep49 (talk) 15:21, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: I am really sorry as I think I have misled you as well. In the meantime, I would ask you to "unblock User:Hatto" first, in case you misunderstand me again. --Hatto (talk) 22:40, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Barkeep49: I am really, really sorry. I think I have confused you a lot. Please "unblock User:Hatto" first so that this kind of confusion will not happen again. You do not need to do anything else. --Hatto (talk) 11:59, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Barkeep49: @Doug Weller: I have pasted the unblock template as shown below. I have been asking you to unblock User:Hatto and re-block User:Hatto0467 since August 16. I hope that User:Hatto will be unblocked as soon as possible, either by Barkeep49 or Doug Weller. When will you unblock User:Hatto and re-block User:Hatto0467? --Hatto (talk) 10:52, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Hatto (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

As mentioned above, I asked User:Barkeep49 if he/she could unblock the Italian version of Utente:Hatto, which was blocked indefinitely since March 2008, but for some reason, he/she misunderstood and unblocked the English version of User:Hatto0467, while User: Hatto was blocked. I have not asked him/her to block User:Hatto at all and have been asking since August 16 to unblock User:Hatto. I also have no intention of switching to User:Hatto0467, so please re-block User:Hatto0467.

Accept reason:

I have read through the above conversation carefully, and I think you have been consistent in your request to have Hatto0467 blocked and Hatto unblocked, but the request was complicated by the similarities in the two usernames and the fact that the block statuses are currently reversed in the Italian Wikipedia. So I am going to unblock this account now and re-block Hatto0467, effectively restoring the way things have been since November of last year. Thanks for your patience. As Barkeep49 and Doug Weller have advised, we can't do anything about your blocks on the Italian Wikipedia; that is a matter for Vituzzu or other itwiki admins. DanCherek (talk) 14:52, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@DanCherek: Thank you for unblocking and helping me so much!! And I understood that you, Barkeep49 and Doug Weller do not have the authority to unblock my Hatto's account in the Italian Wikipedia. By the way, I sent a message to Vituzzu at it:Discussioni utente:Hatto#Unblocked regarding unblocking Italian Hatto's account, but he/she probably ignored me or forgot to reply to me. Therefore, I am looking for administrators who can unblock my account in the Italian Wikipedia apart from Vituzzu. How can I do so? In the meantime, my idea is to call for any administrator who can unblock my account on it:Discussioni Wikipedia:Amministratori. Or do you think another way is better? --Hatto (talk) 14:04, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am not familiar with the way things work over at the Italian Wikipedia so I am unable to advise on the best way to proceed, sorry. DanCherek (talk) 14:11, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

RE:about In My Darkest Hour by Megadeth

edit

Sorry I took so long to help edit the draft for "In My Darkest Hour". I knew that the quotes from Penelope Spheeris existed, but I didn't have time to do anything before work. Don't move it into an article space yet. The Allmusic reference no longer shows what it's supposed to, so it needs to be replaced and I'm sure I can find some more things to expand before that. I can understand you just fine when you use DeepL. That's the translation app I use as well. Also, if you ever want me to help expand an article, just let me know. yawaraey (talk) 01:37, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I don't think there is anything else to add to it. I would have someone look it over before publishing it, but I think it should be good enough to publish. yawaraey (talk) 05:18, 21 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Yawaraey: I once asked a user named Nkon21 if he could move the draft articles of Nemophila and Band-Maiko to mainspace, and he did indeed move them to mainspace. I'm also going to ask him about this "In My Darkest Hour" draft article and see if he can move it to mainspace, is that okay? --Hatto (talk) 14:09, 21 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Template categorization

edit

Hi. Just stopping by to let you know while it is appreciated you are categorizing templates, this edit of yours was done incorrectly and caused the category to be included in this weekly database report. It has been fixed here.

Categorization of articles can be tricky enough. Catting templates is far trickier and far more tedious. Care must be taken to not damage the function of the template, because it can potentially affect so many other pages.

If there is a /doc (documentation) subpage, then that is the page where the categories must be placed, and they must be placed between <includeonly>...</includeonly> tags or they wont work. If there is no /doc page, then the template may be directly categorized, but this time the categories must be placed between <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags. This is to prevent the categories from getting transcluded along with the template. When this happens, it causes any and all articles using the template to become miscategorized. I.e. they are placed in the same category as the template itself. Much of this and other important things about template catting are spelled out at WP:CAT#T and WP:NOINCLUDE.

Thanks for your time. Cheers! --DB1729talk 17:24, 22 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oricon Single charts vs Combined Singles

edit

Hi @Hatto,

after a user deleted the Oricon ranking in the English-languaged article of the Yoasobi song Idol due to it being part of Oricon Combined Singles (which also counts digital downloads and music streaming as well), I opened a thread in German-languaged Redaktion:Musik asking if it still useful to use the current Single Charts as they do just count physical sales only. The CD sales charts have a separated archive (Link) while the Combined Singles do not (link). I am contacting you to ask if you have knowlegde about this issue or if you know someone more or lessly involved with the domestic music industry who can help us out to clear the question.

The Combined Single charts were introduced in 2017 or 2018 and the Total Albums were introduced around the same time. Problem is: The Oricon Charts starts at 2020, so years of 2018 and 2019 is not accessable anymore. --Goroth (talk) 20:02, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Note: The deletion was reverted with comment: Sadly, Oricon Singles Chart is still the main chart even though it counts only physical sales.

@Goroth: Hi! I'm sorry, but I also feel that Japanese music charts such as Oricon have become quite complicated now, and sometimes I am not sure which Oricon information to use as a reference when editing articles, which is a problem for me to be honest. As for the Idol article, I don't know how to edit it either. Is my answer OK? --Hatto (talk) 03:43, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Hatto thank you for your swift reply. I was just asking if you have some insight of Japanese music industry or if you know somebody who has some inside views of the industry in order to help us regarding this matter. It was not a request regarding the Idol article but a question for overall usage of Combined Single charts in the List of Number-one hits in Japan articles starting 2018. And yes, it seems that the Japanese music charts are very complicated to understand. --Goroth (talk) 05:48, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hatto. I appreciate your linking of the related discussion in your edit summary on List of kawaii metal musical groups. I hope you won't mind if I suggest a change to type of link you use in these cases. Since page history edit summaries are locked down upon submission, but talk pages are frequently cleared/archived, any link in the summaries, to sections in talk pages, may become effectively dead. We can use the PERMALINK feature to avoid this problem. Once you're used to it, it's a simple procedure. Creepy Nuts

edit

Hi @Hatto, I have seen that you have added categories for a redirection page. The reason I am reaching out to you is to ask if you are able to translate the Japanese Wikipedia article about the hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts into English and publish it on English-languaged Wikipedia replacing the redirection. Kindest regards --Goroth (talk) 18:07, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Goroth: Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm not a fan of Creepy Nuts, but I've known them since probably 2020 or 2021. I was surprised to see their Japanese Wikipedia article, which is moderately detailed. However, as mentioned above, I'm not a fan of them, so I'm not confident that I could successfully create an English Wikipedia article about them. Besides, being Japanese, I'm not very good at English. (LOL) However, I don't think it's a problem that their article exists on the English Wikipedia, so I'll try my best to edit their English article when I have time. If you don't mind, can you help me edit my English article about them as well? --Hatto (talk) 16:35, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Hatto, thank you very much for your reply. Well, I think their music is good to me. I was wondering why there is an article about their song Bling-Bang-Bang-Born while the artist is only a redirect to that article. I would do a proof reading of the article if you are fine with it (even so, I am not a native English speaker as I am German). I took Japanese lessons last year but the follow-up class was cancelled due to not reaching the minimum amount of participants, so my skills are very low (I am not really able to read kanji, katakana only some hiragana). --Goroth (talk) 16:41, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Translations

edit

Hi there. I found you from your contributions to the article One More Time, One More Chance, which I happened to edit. As your user page states, you seem to be a native speaker of Japanese. If you have time, would you please be able to provide your input regarding the literal translation at Talk:Frieren#Regarding_the_literal_translation_of_the_title? Thank you. @Lunar-akaunto: I'm so sorry, I won't be participating in the Frieren's talk page you told me about because I'm not familiar with anime or manga. --Hatto (talk) 15:59, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I understand, but you do not need to be familiar with the frieren anime or manga to interpret it; in fact, it is even better as you would be able to provide an unbiased translation. So, potentially, how would you read "葬送のフリーレン"?Lunar-akauntotalk 17:05, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Lunar-akaunto: I don't know anything about this manga series either, but does that mean you want the literal translation of "葬送のフリーレン"? --Hatto (talk) 03:28, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Lunar-akauntotalk 05:47, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Lunar-akaunto: I'm a native Japanese speaker, but the word "葬送" (sōsō) is rarely used even in Japanese, so I also looked up its English translation. Apparently, the English translation of "葬送" is "funeral," so I think that "Frieren of the funeral" is correct.
See also
https://outputenglish.com/english-title-of-frieren-beyond-journeys-end --Hatto (talk) 06:02, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Exactly, that is how the services such as Google translate it, but standalone "葬" is "funeral / bury" and "送" is "to send / escort"; so wouldn't they here as a word together mean "attending a funeral"? and with "のフリーレン" would mean "frieren attending or observing the funeral" or better "frieren at the funeral".
Thank you for the link to the website, but I am not sure how reliable that is. The author of the article appears to be using machine translation and also states it is an arbitary translation. Lunar-akauntotalk 09:01, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Lunar-akaunto:I'm not really familiar with anime or manga, and I'm not that good at speaking English, so there are a lot of things I don't understand unless I look up the meaning of English words. I think you should ask someone who speaks English better than me. --Hatto (talk) 15:01, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:06, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
