Lee Min-ho (Korean: 이민호; born October 25, 1998), better known by his stage name Lee Know (Korean: 리노), is a South Korean singer, rapper, and dancer. He is a member of South Korean boy band Stray Kids, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2017.[1]
Early life
[edit]Lee Min-ho was born in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea and is an only child. He started dancing in middle school, after seeing a dance video online. He took lessons for five years before becoming a trainee.[2] Lee Know graduated from Gimpo Jeil Technical High School.[3] He practiced martial arts as a child and has a second degree black belt in taekwondo and mixed martial arts.[4]
After debuting, along with bandmates Changbin and Han, Lee Know enrolled at Gukje Cyber University, studying performance and broadcast entertainment.[5][non-primary source needed]
Career
[edit]2015–2017: Pre-debut and survival show
[edit]Lee Know competed in dance competitions (performing with the crew 'Cupcakes' at World of Dance in 2016) and pursued work as a professional dancer.[6] He was also a back up dancer for K-Pop group BTS appearing in several of their performances, the 2017 music video for "Not Today" and, also toured with them on their 2017 'Wings' Tour.[7] After being seen at a dance competition, JYP called him in 2015 and asked him to come to an audition. After hearing nothing back, he assumed he'd failed, but was called a couple years later and was asked to join the company.[8] Lee Know joined JYP on July 16th, 2017, making him the last Stray Kids member to do so.[9] Lee Know participated on the survival show Stray Kids and was eliminated on the fourth episode for making an error while rapping.[10] Ultimately, Lee Know and Felix, who were both eliminated, were allowed to be back and debut with the group in the last episode of the show. Their pre-debut EP Mixtape was released January 2018. Stray Kids officially debuted March 26, 2018 with the EP I Am Not.[11]
2017–present: Debut with Stray Kids and solo activities
[edit]Lee Know is a main dancer and dance leader for Stray Kids, and also contributes vocally to all their albums. Lee Know has released some solo projects through Stray Kids YouTube channel including a dance he choreographed "Dawn",[12] his solo song "Limbo",[13] the collaboration song "Drive" (with Bang Chan),[14] and a cover of Day6's "Love me or Leave me".[15]
In August 2021, Lee Know joined Minju as the new host of MBC's Show! Music Core along with Jungwoo of NCT.[16] Later that year, he was nominated alongside his co-hosts for the 2021 MBC Entertainment Awards Rookie Award.[17]
In 2024, Lee Know performed his unreleased solo track, "Youth," during the Dominate World Tour.[18] The song was later included in Hop, the group's album released on December 13.[19] In the same year, Lee Know was ranked 3rd on Billboard's K-Pop Artist 100 chart.[20]
Other ventures
[edit]Fashion
[edit]Lee Know has done photo shoots for several fashion companies, including Gucci. He appeared in a campaign for Etro's "Earth Beat" sneakers in 2021.[21] In May 2024, he made his Met Gala debut with Stray Kids as the guest of Tommy Hilfiger.[22] He also attended Gucci's 2025 Cruise fashion show as a guest in London at the same month.[23] Lee Know has appeared on the covers of fashion magazines including W Korea and Beauty+.[24][25] Lee Know, along with bandmate Felix, made their New York Fashion Week debut at the Tommy Hilfiger Spring-Summer 2025 show in September 2024 as a guest.[26]
Philanthropy
[edit]On February 28, 2024, World Vision announced that Lee Know became the youngest person to be inducted into their "Bob Pierce Honor Club" for donating over ₩100 million (US$76,589.47) to the charity. Lee Know also sponsors four children through the same charity.[27]
Television
[edit]Starting in August 2021, Lee Know was an MC on Show! Music Core but stepped down in October of 2023 after the end of the two-year contract.[28] He also appeared on multiple television shows: The Fishermen and the City,[29] Idol Dictation Contest,[30] and Idol on Quiz.[31]
Personal life
[edit]In September 2023, Lee Know and fellow Stray Kids members Seungmin and Hyunjin were involved in a car accident, causing them to miss their performance at the Global Citizen Festival, though they sustained no serious injuries.[32] In December 2023, he injured his hand while boxing but still performed at the 2023 Asian Artist Awards (AAA).[33]
