Writings
[edit]"About 100 to 120 of his alleged writings exist, the majority in manuscript and of doubtful authenticity."
How could they be other than in manuscript, since the printing press was unknown in Greek-speaking areas at the time?--CJGB (Chris) 22:47, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- That means no one had made printed editions of them yet, at least in 1908 or 1911 or whenever the Catholic Encyclopedia or Britannica wrote that. Adam Bishop 03:05, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae now has 86 works under his name, so I'm changing the wording here. Opoudjis 08:27, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Writings (second period)
[edit]"This is called variously Gennadius's Dialogue (didalexis)"
This passage appears to come from the Catholic Encyclopedia. Shouldn't it be dialexis? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.171.184.3 (talk) 17:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC).
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Patriarch Gennadios I of Constantinople which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 18:00, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Uniate/Union
[edit]The titles for some of the latter sections, "Pro-Uniate" and "Anti-Uniate", seem to me anachronistic. "Uniate" did not really become a term or an issue until the late 1500s with the Union of Brest. Perhaps "Pro-Union" and "Anti-Union" would be more accurate for this period?Horatio325 (talk) 19:48, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- I support "Pro-Union" and "Anti-Union". A ntv (talk) 07:27, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Albanian origin
[edit]His "greek" surname is actually albanian. Maybe he was working for the Turks from the beginning after all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.6.239.92 (talk) 21:03, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
