The lede says she is best known for playing Palpatine in the Empire Strikes Back. How is that possible when nobody knew she had played that role until 2016 (long after she was swapped out in rereleases of the film)? Even other Wikipedia pages credit Elaine Baker. I removed the following:
...best known for physically portraying Emperor Palpatine in the original release of The Empire Strikes Back, though her face was masked and her voice dubbed. The 2004 DVD release of the film had her replaced by the best-known portrayer of the character, Ian McDiarmid.
Nobody knew for years that she may have played that role, and it is not even clear now that the assertion in this article that she appeared in the film was correct. If that is what she is "best known for" then she is not notable enough to have a Wikipedia article.--Srleffler (talk) 22:47, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This edit appears to be where the text changed to say that Eaton was the one who appeared in the actual film. Importantly, no reliable source was added to support the new assertion. There's a citation to an audio podcast where they seem to have interviewed the chimp who played the Emperor's eyes, and later a tweet was added. Lacking a reliable source for the claim that Eaton appeared in the final film, the article cannot make as definitive a claim as it now does. I'll fix that shortly.--Srleffler (talk) 23:08, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
