English or French name?
[edit]Shouldn't the English name of this region be New Aquitaine; the WP English pages for Bretagne and Normandie appear as Brittany and Normandy for instance? Just asking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.83.43 (talk) 08:44, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
Renaming of article and all associated categories
[edit]@Kousch?: Would you please start an orderly {{Requested move}}
discussion on whether the article with all its categories should be renamed, before just going ahead with this massive undertaking? I'm not yet convinced, "New Aquitaine" is (already) used by English-language WP:RS, and we don't want to participate in establishing a not yet established name. Also, we do have orderly procedures for renaming articles and categories. Please at least do so now. I will otherwise have to revert all of your changes to the original title. Nouvelle-Aquitaine → New Aquitaine – English name. This would also be WP:CONSISTENT with Occitania, Normandy and Brittany, which I find to be a bonus. Heanor (talk) 08:04, 2 February 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 23:01, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Unlike those, this one hasn't entered common English parlance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:36, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Wikipedia should follow common usage, not invent new names. Markussep Talk 14:03, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
