I think this article has two Ray Van Cleef's mixed up. If he was born in 1911 (ish), then he would have won the College World Series MVP at 39. Not out of the question, but he'd be about 20 years older than most other winners. TridentMan123 (talk) 11:37, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the Rutgers baseball player is Raymond E. Van Cleef Jr. He played minor league baseball briefly and then coached at Sul Ross State University. See:
