[edit]A crying shame that when someone reseaches this band this it what they find. It is my opinion that Lynn started something an influenced so many. His death was not only a huge loss to this typeof music, but his accomplishments should be better noted... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ramey (talk • contribs) 22:15, 1 July, 2006 (UTC).
- So do it. I've noticed your last comment on (hed) pe wasn't exactly the winner of the mature post award, so why don't you try and do something useful by adding to this article, then? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.144.143.9 (talk) 12:48, 5 July, 2006 (UTC)
Are you actually supposed to use the official band bio on a wikipedia article?

- Cool sources for Slipknot:Unmasked and NME. MTV, on other hand, describes them as "a funk, punk and metal hybrid" so no need to pick any one of the three. And the Santa Barbara Independent works better as a ref for nu metal; it calls them a "nu metal collective". And the first article at the Boston Herald is actually of Sugar Ray, not Snot. And the Blabbermouth article says "metal/punk rock hybrid". And I do not see the relevance of the last link whatsoever. Munci (talk) 00:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Band Name
[edit]Shouldn't we create a new page for the band named "Tons"? In my mind the band "Snot" finished with the death of the lead singer. When they found a new singer and decided to tour with the old name, that's all fine, but the second they decided to change the name of the group, don't they then split off into a new group? It just seems confusing to people of the band Snot, especially seeing as Tons haven't released any music yet. They are a band in name only right now. Just my thoughts. KoRnOnThEeKoB (talk) 14:19, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- You don't need to release copies of music in order to be a band. Many bands never release albums or anything like that at all. As for creating a separate article, I can see arguments for and against. Maybe the situation at Warsaw and Joy Division is comparable but more likely the one at Joy Division and New Order. Munci (talk) 23:51, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with KoRnOnThEeKoB. There should be a separate page for Tons. Tons is not Snot it's a new band with former members of Snot that will continue to play Snot's music along with new songs. Snot had numerous line up changes so I don't think a few past members with a new singer and new band name should be considered Snot. That's like saying Alter Bridge is Creed but they have a new singer and new band name. You could've said the same about Velvet Revolver. 3 of the band members used to be in Guns N Roses. Should they have just called it Guns N Roses but with a different singer and new band name? Alter Bridge and Velvet Revolver both have their own pages separate from Creed and GNR (respectively). I know that Sublime (with Rome) and Alice in Chains have done the same (new singers) but both flat out said this is the same band with a new singer. That's not the case with Tons, Alter Bridge or Velvet Revolver. Once VR gets a new singer, now that Weiland is out, we will see if they decide to keep the same moniker or change it but that's not part of the discussion for now.
